Sako M23
The Sako M23 is a Finnish family of assault and battle rifles designed by Sako in cooperation with the Finnish Defence Forces and manufactured by Sako. The Swedish Armed Forces also participated in the development program for the M23. The Finnish Defence Forces have adopted the rifle in two configurations, as the 7.62 KIV 23 (from Finnish , 'rifle 2023'), designated marksman rifle variant and 7.62 TKIV 23 (from Finnish , 'sniper rifle 2023') sniper rifle variant, which are to enter service in 2023. The M23 is based on the AR-10 and AR-15 design by Eugene Stoner but features a proprietary short-stroke gas piston system, similar to Heckler & Koch HK416 and other piston versions of AR-15-type assault rifles. Automatkarbin 4
The Automatkarbin 4 (Ak 4; ) is a license-built Swedish version of the West German Heckler & Koch G3 battle rifle. It was adopted as the service rifle of the Swedish Armed Forces in 1965, replacing the bolt-action m/96 Mauser, the self-loading automatgevär m/42 and the automatic rifles Kulsprutegevär m/21, Kulsprutegevär m/40. The initial Ak 4 incorporated some minor modifications compared to the original G3 design, including a longer buttstock, a serrated thumb groove on the bolt carrier to aid in silent bolt closure, a heavier recoil buffer for increased reliability and a rotary diopter rear sight with four apertures (numbered 2, 3, 4 and 5) used for: in increments. The Ak 5 (, English: Automatic Carbine 5) is a license-built Swedish version of the Belgian FN FNC assault rifle, with certain modifications, mostly to adapt the weapon to the partially subarctic Swedish climate. The Ak 5 is the current service rifle of the Swedish Armed Forces, adopted in 1986, partially replacing the Ak 4, a license-built version of the Heckler & Koch G3. In 2021, Sweden announced that they were looking to develop a new rifle in collaboration with Finland, which would replace the Ak5. In 2023 this rifle took shape as the new Automatkarbin 24. Antti Samuli Kaikkonen (born 14 February 1974 in Turku, Finland) is a Finnish politician who has served as chair of the Centre Party since June 2024. He has been a member of the Finnish Parliament from Uusimaa since 2003. He served as Minister of Defence from 2019 to 2023. Kaikkonen was the president of Finnish Centre Youth from 1997 to 2001. Petri Jussi Mikael Hulkko (born 26 September 1961) is a Finnish three-star general. He has served as the commander of the Finnish Army since August 2017 to January 2021. He is now retired. Hulkko graduated from the Cadet School in 1984. The Heckler & Koch HK416 is an assault rifle chambered for the 5.56×45mm NATO Cartridge (firearms), cartridge. It is designed and manufactured by the German company Heckler & Koch. Eugene Morrison Stoner (November 22, 1922 – April 24, 1997) was an American machinist and firearms designer who is most associated with the development of the ArmaLite AR-15 rifle that was redesigned and modified by Colt's Manufacturing Company, Colt's Patent Firearm Company for the United States military as the M16 rifle.
