Sakinah Junid
Puan Sri Datin Seri Panglima Sakinah Junid (10 October 1922 – 7 September 2004) was the long-serving Dewan Muslimat's Chief of Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) for twenty years ranging from 1963–1983. She is the wife of Asri Muda, PAS leader. Education She studied at Perguruan Diniyyah Puteri Padang Panjang, West Sumatra, Indonesia as schools that formed the mindset and personality of leaders through the process of "propagation and overreach - ''dakwah and tarbiah''" that eventually made her a leader. Woman activism Sakinah Junid was actively involved in Angkatan Wanita Sedar (AWAS) (Conscious Women's Front), the first nationalist women's organisation in Malaysia. The Malay language has a complex system of Style (manner of address), styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party
The Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS; ms, Parti Islam Se-Malaysia; ms, ڤرتي إسلام سمليسيا, label= Jawi, script=arab, italic=unset) is an Islamist political party in Malaysia. As the party focused on Islamic fundamentalism, PAS's electoral base are largely in Peninsular Malaysia's rural and conservative northern and eastern coasts, particularly in the states of Kelantan, Kedah, Perlis, Terengganu, Pahang and also in some of the rural parts in Selangor & Perak. Asri Muda
Mohd Asri bin Muda ( Jawi: ; 10 October 1923 – 28 August 1992) was a Malaysian politician who served as the President of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) from 1969 to 1982, and as the Menteri Besar (Chief Minister) of Kelantan. Early and personal life Asri was born on 10 October 1923 in Kota Bharu, the capital of Kelantan. He was a school teacher and journalist before entering politics. He was elected to the Kelantan State Assembly and the federal House of Representatives in the 1959 election. He married to Sakinah Junid on August 15, 1948 and has 9 children, 2 males and 7 females, namely Noordianauli Asri, Husni Zaim, Ratna Inzah, Mutia Sabihah, Naliyah, Khalidah, Nasibah, Najah and Mohd Taqiuddin Menteri Besar of Kelantan Asri became the Menteri Besar of Kelantan in 1964, replacing Ishak Lotfi Omar. Angkatan Wanita Sedar
Angkatan Wanita Sedar (AWAS; Conscious Women's Front) was the first nationalist women's organisation in Malaysia. It was established in late 1945 as women's wing of the Malay Nationalist Party ( ms, Partai Kebangsaan Melayu Malaya, PKMM). Aishah Ghani was the first president of AWAS. The organisation was also led by Shamsiah Fakeh. At its peak, AWAS had a membership of 2000 women. The group organised, held discussions and hosted Indonesian women visitors. AWAS members, led by Sakinah Junid, participated in a six-mile protest march against the British prohibition disallowing the use of motorised vehicles in processions. Malay Nationalist Party
Parti Kebangsaan Melayu Malaya (PKMM), also known as the Malay Nationalist Party, was founded on 17 October 1945 in Ipoh, Perak. The party was the first Malay political party formed after the Japanese occupation of Malaya. The main goal of the PKMM was to achieve full independence for Malaya and to oppose any form of British colonial rule. The five principles adopted by the PKMM were a belief in God, nationalism, sovereignty of the people, universal brotherhood and social justice. Shamsiah Fakeh
Shamsiah Fakeh (1924 – 20 October 2008) was a Malaysian nationalist and feminist. She was the leader of Angkatan Wanita Sedar (AWAS), Malaysia's first nationalist women organisation and a prominent Malay leader of the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM). Early life Shamsiah was born in the village of Kampung Gemuruh near the town of Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan. She had her early education in the Madrasah Aliah Islaiah (also known as the Islamic High School) in Pelangai, Negeri Sembilan and was later sent to the Madrasah Tuddimiah in Padang Panjang, Sumatera in what was then the Dutch East Indies.
