Sainte-Foy, Quebec City
Sainte-Foy (; ) is a former city in central Quebec, Canada alongside the Saint Lawrence River. It was amalgamated into Quebec City at the start of 2002. Most of the formerly independent municipality of Sainte-Foy is located in the borough () of Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge — initially as one of the two constituent districts of the former borough of Sainte-Foy–Sillery. On 1 November 2009, Sainte-Foy was subdivided into four separate districts: Cité-Universitaire, Plateau, Saint-Louis, Pointe-de-Sainte-Foy, when the borough of Sainte-Foy– Sillery– Cap-Rouge was formed. Sainte-Foy is a major suburban neighbourhood west of downtown Quebec City. Sillery (), a former independent city founded in 1637, is one of 35 administrative sectors (), which are unincorporated places, located in the post-expansion jurisdiction of the City of Quebec, Quebec, Canada. Sillery was one of multiple self-governing municipalities amalgamated into a vastly expanded Quebec City, that went into legal effect on January 1, 2002, as part of the province-wide 2000–06 municipal reorganization in Quebec. Located alongside in what pre-merger was the southwestern border of Quebec City, Sillery is a constituent district () of the borough () of Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge. Louis-Hébert (federal Electoral District)
Louis-Hébert () is a federal electoral district in the Canadian province of Quebec. Represented in the House of Commons since 1968, its population was certified, according to the detailed statistics of 2001, as 98,156. Geography The district, in the Quebec region of Capitale-Nationale, consists of the southern part of Quebec City, and is largely coextensive with the borough of Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge. It is based mostly on the former city of Sainte-Foy, which was merged into the "megacity" of Quebec City in 2002. The neighbouring ridings are Portneuf—Jacques-Cartier, Louis-Saint-Laurent, Québec, Lévis—Bellechasse, and Lotbinière—Chutes-de-la-Chaudière. Cap-Rouge () is a List of former municipalities in Quebec, former city in central Quebec, Canada, since 2002 within the borough Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge in Quebec City. The site of the first attempted permanent French settlement in North America, Charlesbourg-Royal, is located at the confluence of the Rivière du Cap Rouge and the Saint Lawrence River. Its population was 13,153 as of the Canada 2011 Census. First permanent establishments In 1635, the first seigneurie was granted on the territory of Cape-Rouge, but revoked the following year by the Company of One Hundred Associates. Laurentien (; 2001 census population 82,965) is a former borough of Quebec City. It comprised Val-Bélair, Quebec City, Val-Bélair, Cap-Rouge, Quebec City, Cap-Rouge and part of Sainte-Foy, Quebec City, Sainte-Foy. Before January 1, 2006, Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures and L'Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec, L'Ancienne-Lorette were also part of this borough, but they were restored as separate municipalities. Sainte-Foy–Sillery
Sainte-Foy–Sillery () is a former borough of Quebec City (Population (2006): 72,262). It comprised the former city of Sillery and most of Sainte-Foy, which were incorporated into the borough on January 1, 2002. On November 1, 2009, the new borough of Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge was created, including the area of the former city of Cap-Rouge and the part of Sainte-Foy that had not been incorporated earlier into the former borough; these had been incorporated into the borough of Laurentien in 2002. Jean-Talon is a provincial electoral riding in the Capitale-Nationale region of Quebec, Canada. It consists of part of the Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge borough of Quebec City. It was named after former French colonial administrator of New France, Jean Talon. History It was created for the 1966 election from Québec-Centre and parts of Québec-Est and Québec-Ouest electoral districts.
