Saint Patrick Street
Saint Patrick Street (officially in French: ''Rue Saint-Patrick'') is a street in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It runs for on an east-west course (according to Montreal street directions) along the entire southern edge of the Lachine Canal. It begins at the Chemin du Musée, an extension of LaSalle Boulevard, at the canal's western entrance in the borough of Lachine, west of which it becomes the Chemin du Canal and runs along the spit of land that forms René Lévesque Park. Proceeding eastward from here, it traverses the boroughs of Lachine and LaSalle, then the neighbourhoods of Ville-Émard, Côte-Saint-Paul, and Pointe-Saint-Charles in Le Sud-Ouest, ending at Wellington Street beside the Wellington and Peel Basins on the Saint Lawrence River. Ville-Émard is a neighbourhood located in the Sud-Ouest borough of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Overview Geography This neighbourhood is bordered by the Aqueduct Canal to the east as far north as Desmarchais Boulevard where it meets Côte-Saint-Paul, after which the eastern boundary runs north along Monk Boulevard to the Lachine Canal, the community's northern edge. Atwater Market
Atwater Market (''Marché Atwater'') is a market hall located in the Saint-Henri area of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It opened in 1933. The interior market is home to many butchers and the Première Moisson bakery and restaurant. The outside market has many farmers' stalls, which sell both local and imported produce, as well as two cheese stores, a wine store and a fish store. The market's Art Deco building was designed by architect Ludger Lemieux, working with his son, Paul Lemieux. It is located on Atwater Street, near the Lachine Canal and the Lionel-Groulx Metro station, as well as Greene Avenue. A pedestrian bridge, which can also be used by bicycles, connects the market to Saint-Patrick Street and to a bicycle path in Pointe-Saint-Charles on the other side of the Lachine Canal. The Old Port of Montreal (french: Vieux-Port de Montréal, italic=no) is the historic port of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Griffintown
Griffintown is a historic neighbourhood of Montreal, Quebec, southwest of downtown. The area existed as a functional neighbourhood from the 1820s until the 1960s, and was mainly populated by Irish immigrants and their descendants. Mostly depopulated since then, the neighbourhood has been undergoing redevelopment since the early 2010s. One can identify Griffintown as the portion of the ward of St. Ann located north of the Lachine Canal; the part south of the canal is now part of Pointe-Saint-Charles.
