Saint Vitus
Vitus (), whose name is sometimes rendered Guy or Guido, was a Christian martyr from Sicily. His surviving hagiography is pure legend. Guy Of Anderlecht
Guy of Anderlecht, also known as Saint Guy (or Guido, Guidon and Wye of Láken) (ca. 950–1012) was a Christian saint who is venerated in Catholic and Orthodox churches. He was known as the ''Poor Man of Anderlecht''. Life and legend Born to poor parents, Guy lived a simple agricultural life until the age of fourteen, when he became assistant sacristan at the Sanctuary of Our Lady in Laeken, where his duties included sweeping the church, dressing the altars, taking care of the vestments and altar linens, ringing the bell for mass and vespers, and providing flowers and other decorations which were used in that church. He shared his meager wages with the poor, and went to Brussels, having been persuaded by a merchant that he could earn more to give to the poor. Eventually, he became a trader on the river Senne. Lac-des-Aigles
Lac-des-Aigles () is a city in the Témiscouata Regional County Municipality of the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec, Canada. The population is 571. Its economy is mainly based on agriculture and forestry. It is located southeast of Rimouski, near Esprit-Saint. It was created on July 31st 2024 by the merger of the municipalities of Lac-des-Aigles and Saint-Guy. History Settlement of the area began in 1931 with the arrival of land-clearers from Saint-Clément, Saint-Hubert, Bégon and Hocquart, who were short of space. The municipality of Lac-des-Aigles was officially created in 1948. On July 31, 2024, the municipalities of Saint-Guy and Lac-des-Aigles merged to form the town of Lac-des-Aigles.
