Saint-Pascal () is a city in Kamouraska Regional County Municipality in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec. It has a population of 3,530. It is the second biggest city in the RCM, after La Pocatière. The city is crossed by the Kamouraska River. It's also the county seat of the Kamouraska RCM. Saint-Pascal was named in honour of Paschal Taché, seigneur of Kamouraska. The original spelling of the municipality, based on the Latin Paschalis, was given in honour of Étienne-Paschal Taché, a notary and militia lieutenant-colonel. In November 1813, he became co-seigneur of Kamouraska with his father, Paschal-Jacques. On his father's death, he assumed sole ownership of the seigneury. Kamouraska Regional County Municipality
Kamouraska () is a regional county municipality in eastern Quebec, Canada. The regional county municipality seat is Saint-Pascal, but the largest town is La Pocatière. The area is an important research, development and education centre for agriculture. Factories in the region produce metal products and public transportation equipment. One of the people instrumental in settling and developing this area was Pascal Taché, an early seigneur. The name "Kamouraska" comes from an Algonquin word meaning "where rushes grow at the water's edge". 'Kamouraska' comes from the Abenaki, ''ska moraskua'', which means "birch bark here", "there is some white birch bark". This sort of birch bark is used for making canoes and wigwams. Kamouraska () is a municipality (Quebec), municipality on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec, Canada. Saint-Bruno-de-Kamouraska () is a municipality in the Canadian province of Quebec, located in the Kamouraska Regional County Municipality. History The land was divided up according to the township system introduced by the British regime. Woodbrige Township corresponds for the most part to the parish boundaries. Due to a shortage of land in the Seigneurie de Kamouraska, the township began to be settled around 1834. The municipality was officially created in 1887 under the name Woodbridge. In 1986 the name of Woodbridge was changed to the current Saint-Bruno-de-Kamouraska. The municipality was the inspiration for François Pérusse's song St-Néant.
