Saint-François-de-Pabos
Chandler () is a town in the Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine region of Quebec, Canada. It is the second-most populous town on the Gaspé Peninsula after the Town of Gaspé. It was known as Pabos between June 27, 2001 and May 4, 2002. The city is the birthplace of NHL player Mathieu Garon, Quebec politician Joseph-Léonard Duguay, singer "La Bolduc" (Mary Rose Anna Travers), singer and actor Flora Gionest-Roussy and world curling champion John Kawaja. In addition to Chandler itself, the town's territory also includes the communities of Newport, Grand-Pabos-Ouest, Pabos, Pabos Mills, and Saint-François-de-Pabos. John Kawaja
John W. Kawaja (born April 27, 1961 in Chandler, Quebec) is a Canadian curler. He is a two-time Brier and World Champion. Career Kawaja moved to Ontario as a youth, and became a high-profile skip (he won the 1980 Ontario junior championship), but it was not until his move to the Ed Werenich rink that he finally started to win championships. In 1983, while attending York University as a political science student, Kawaja won his first provincial championship, playing second for Werenich. The team not only won the provincial championship, but they won the Brier and the World Curling Championship as well that year. Kawaja is the youngest player to have ever won the Brier (21 years old). In 1984, the team repeated their provincial championship, but lost in the Brier final to Michael Riley's Manitoba rink. Mary Rose-Anne Bolduc, born Travers, (June 4, 1894 – February 20, 1941) was a musician and singer of French Canadian music. She was known as Madame Bolduc or La Bolduc. Joseph-Léonard Duguay (October 8, 1900 – December 3, 1946) was a politician from Quebec, Canada and a Member of the House of Commons of Canada and the Legislative Assembly of Quebec. Mathieu Carol Garon (; born January 9, 1978) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Penguins, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Tampa Bay Lightning between 2000 and 2013.
