Saifur Rehman (Pakistani Politician)
Saifur Rehman Khan is a Pakistani businessman and former politician currently based in Qatar. He served as the chairman of the Ehtesab Bureau during Second Sharif ministry. He also served as a member of Senate of Pakistan as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) (PML-N). A multi-millionaire businessman, he is currently living in Qatar with his family. His daughter Ayesha had married Nawaz Sharif's grandson Junaid Safdar in 2021; the couple divorced in 2023. Early life and education He was born on 7 December 1954 in Lahore, Pakistan. He obtained a degree in commerce from the Punjab University in 1974. Business career He is the Chairman of the Redco Group of Industries. Operating in Qatar since 1981, as of 2023 Redco had a workforce of 20,000 employees and engineers, considered the country's largest industrial and contracting group operating. National Accountability Bureau
The National Accountability Bureau (; abbreviated NAB) is Pakistan's anti-corruption agency. Its chairman is Nazir Ahmed Butt, a retired general. History The Ehtesab Act, 1997 established an Ehtesab Cell, charged with the investigation and prosecution of corruption. Under the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999, the NAB was established as the cell's successor, and given the additional responsibility of preventing and raising awareness of corruption. The NAB is also responsible for money-laundering investigations under the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2010. Organization The principal officers of the NAB are its Chairman and Prosecutor General. Islam is the largest and the state religion of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Pakistan has over 231.69 million adherents of Islam (excluding the administrative territory of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan) making it the second-largest Muslim population. As much as 85-90% of the population follows Sunni Islam. Most Pakistani Sunni Muslims belong to the Hanafi school of jurisprudence, which is represented by the Barelvi and Deobandi traditions.
