Sahan Wijesiri (full name Mudiyanselage Sahan Manjitha Wijesiri; born 9 January 1988) is a Sri Lankan cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and wicket-keeper who plays for Lankan Cricket Club. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Lankan Cricket Club is a first-class cricket team in Sri Lanka. History Lankan Cricket Club played in the Premier Trophy from 2005–06 to 2012–13. It was one of six clubs that lost their places when the competition was reduced from 20 teams to 14 for the 2013–14 season. It also lost its List A status at the same time. The club played at lower levels until the 2019–20 season when it was promoted back to the 'A' division of the Premier Trophy. In its eight seasons of first-class cricket, Lankan Cricket Club played 74 matches, with 11 wins, 28 losses and 35 draws. Chilaw ( si, හලාවත, translit=Halāvata, ta, சிலாபம், translit=Cilāpam) is a large town in Puttalam District, North Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is governed by an urban council.
