Sagamok First Nation
The Sagamok Anishnawbek First Nation, also known as Many Rivers Joining-Human Beings, is a First Nations band government located in Ontario, Canada. Sagamok's culture and language is Anishinabek and is made up of the Ojibwe, Odawa and Pottawatomi bands. The Sagamok occupy the Sagamok reserve approximately 120 kilometres west of Sudbury, Ontario Sudbury, officially the City of Greater Sudbury, is the largest city in Northern Ontario by population, with a population of 166,004 at the 2021 Canadian Census. In Canada, an Indian band (), First Nation band () or simply band, is the basic unit of government for those peoples subject to the ''Indian Act'' (i.e. status Indians or First Nations). North Channel (Ontario)
The North Channel is the body of water along the north shore of Lake Huron, in the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of Ontario and the state of Michigan in the United States of America. Unorganized South East Algoma District is an unorganized area in the Canadian province of Ontario, comprising a small unincorporated portion in the southeasternmost corner of the Algoma District. It comprises a small strip of land which lies between the territory of the Sagamok First Nation and the Algoma District's boundary with the Sudbury District, as well as several small islands within the North Channel of Lake Huron, such as Eagle, Fréchette, Fox, Hotham, Middleton, North and South Benjamin Islands. Sables-Spanish Rivers is a Township (Canada), township in Ontario, Canada, on the north shore of Georgian Bay. Kenjgewin Teg (formerly Kenjgewin Teg Educational Institute) is an Indigenous-owned and controlled post-secondary institution at M'Chigeeng First Nation, on Mnidoo Mnising Manitoulin Island, Ontario, Canada. In the Ojibwe language, Kenjgewin Teg means a place of knowledge. Fort La Cloche
La Cloche Provincial Park is a provincial park at the boundary of Algoma and Sudbury Districts in Ontario, Canada. The park consists of an unspoiled section of the La Cloche Mountains that stretch along the North Channel of Georgian Bay, as well as several islands in the channel (which are mostly part of Manitoulin District). Notable features of the park include the site of the former Fort La Cloche trading post and diabase dykes cutting through older Lorrain, Gowganda, and Bruce formations, as well as ridge and terrace forests, and various wetlands and shoreline vegetation.
