Safar Sardar (born 17 May 1989 in Kolkata, West Bengal) is an Indian footballer who plays as a defender for Mohun Bagan A.C. in the I-League and Calcutta Premier Division. Career Early career Sardar started his career at Chirag United in 2009 and stayed till 2010. He then joined Mohammedan for two years. East Bengal Sardar joined East Bengal FC for the 2012–13 I-League season on 15 May 2012. United Sikkim (loan) On 25 August 2012, East Bengal agreed to loan Sardar to United Sikkim on a season-long deal, where he was given the number 32 shirt. 2012–13 I-League
The 2012–13 I-League was the sixth season of the I-League, the Indian professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2007. The season began on 6 October 2012 and finished on 12 May 2013 with Churchill Brothers crowned champions in matchday 25. Dempo were the defending champions, having won their third I-League title the previous season. On 29 December 2012, Mohun Bagan were barred from competing in the I-League for 2 years following a decision taken by the I League core committee. This was because they failed to turn up in the second half of the match against East Bengal because of crowd trouble. All their results in the I-League were declared null and void and all their remaining fixtures were cancelled. Gangtok is a city, municipality, the capital and the largest populated place of the Indian state of Sikkim. It is also the headquarters of the Gangtok District. Paljor Stadium (also spelled Palzor Stadium) is a football stadium located in Gangtok, Sikkim, India. The stadium is currently home to Sikkim Premier Division League clubs. It holds 30,000 people. The stadium also hosts matches of the Sikkim Governor's Gold Cup. History Foundation The Paljor Stadium is popularly known as Polo Ground.
