Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum (; born 1 October 1976) is a member of the ruling family of Dubai, an equestrian, a businessman and a former Olympian sport shooter. He owns international award-winning horses and a UAE football club. Sheikh Saeed is the son of Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the former Emir of Dubai, and his uncle is the incumbent Emir of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Sport shooting career He represented the UAE at the 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympics in skeet shooting. Coached by Lithuanian shooter Leonas Molotokas, he also competed at 2006 Asian Games and 2007 Pan Arab Games. In 2006, he won the Asian Shooting Championships in skeet. In 2010, he won the 9th Arab Shooting Championship at the Fahad Al Ahmed Complex in Kuwait. In 2011, he won gold in the ISSF World Cup Finals in Al Ain, UAE. The House of Maktoum ( ') is the ruling royal family of the Emirate of Dubai, and one of the six ruling families of the United Arab Emirates. The family is a branch of the Bani Yas clan (a lineage the family shares with the Al Nahyan dynasty of Abu Dhabi), a tribal federation that was the dominant power through the region that now forms the United Arab Emirates. History In 1833, about 800 members of the Bani Yas tribe, under the joint leadership of Sheikh Maktoum bin Butti and Obeid bin Said, took over the emirate of Dubai. After Obeid bin Said died of old age in 1836, Maktoum bin Butti took the reins as the sole ruler and established the Al Maktoum dynasty in the emirate.
