Abdus Sadeque
Abdus Sadeque (, ; born 18 September 1946) is a former Pakistani and Bangladeshi field hockey player. Due to pronunciation, transcription and transliteration issues, spellings of his name are recorded as Abdus Sadiq or Abdul Sadiq in Pakistani sports books, old newspapers and on the website of Pakistan Hockey Federation. Spellings of his second name Sadeque are sometimes written as Sadek by Bangladeshi newspapers. He has represented the national hockey teams of both Pakistan and Bangladesh. He also played domestic football in the 70s. After his retirement as player, he became Bangladeshi field hockey organizer, trainer and administrator. Early career Sadeque studied at the Armanitola Government High School, Dacca and the Dacca University. He is a law graduate and holds master's degree in political science. Najma Sadeque
Najma Sadeque (1943 – 8 January 2015) from Pakistan was a leading woman journalist, author, human rights activist, particularly of women's rights, an artist, an environmentalist, and a painter. She also did research on socioeconomic issues and authored many books and wrote articles. She co-founded '' Shirkat Gah'' in 1975, a women's NGO to highlight human rights violations against women. She also co-founded the Women’s Action Forum (WAF), Pakistan. Biography Sadeque was born in 1943 in Bengal, British India and was brought up in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) in an atmosphere of land farming which dictated her future thinking. She studied at the Viqarunnisa Noon School and College in Dhaka and was known for her special skill in writing in English. Sadeque Hossain Khoka
Sadeque Hossain Khoka (12 May 1952 – 4 November 2019) was a Bangladeshi politician. He served as the 2nd mayor of Dhaka City Corporation during 2002 to 2011. He was the vice chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and was President of undivided Dhaka city BNP for longest period of the organisation's existence. Early life and career Khoka attended Dhaka University and completed M.A. in psychology. In 1971 at the age of 19 he fought in the Bangladesh Liberation War. After independence, he worked in organizing soccer, rising to the positions of General Secretary of the Dhaka Metropolitan Football Association and Joint General Secretary of the Bangladesh Football Federation.
