Som Dutt is an Indian politician and is member of the Fifth Legislative Assembly of Delhi, Fifth and Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi. He is a member of the Aam Aadmi Party and represents Sadar Bazar (Delhi Assembly constituency), Sadar Bazar (Assembly constituency) of Delhi Legislative Assembly, Delhi. Conviction Som Dutt was convicted of beating and assaulting a man during the 2015 Delhi Legislative Assembly election campaign. The Gulabi Bagh resident was beaten brutally with a baseball bat. According to the victim, about 50 AAP members had entered his residence, with Dutt beating him with the bat after an altercation while Dutt was conducting an election campaign. The Delhi Legislative Assembly election was held on 7 February 2015 to elect 70 members of the Sixth Legislative Assembly of Delhi. The results were announced on 10 February 2015. The Aam Aadmi Party secured an absolute majority in the assembly, winning 67 of the 70 seats. Background In the 2013 Delhi Legislative Assembly election, 2013 Delhi state elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (along with its pre-poll ally Shiromani Akali Dal) emerged as the single-largest party, winning 32 out of the 70 seats.
