Sada Orihara
Sada Orihara (1908-1960) was the first woman to attend the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan. Education Orihara was educated at the Maebashi Girls' Senior High School and the Tokyo Women's Higher Normal School (now Ochanomizu University). She then enrolled as a scholarship student in the Department of Dye Chemistry at Tokyo Institute of Technology in Meguro, Tokyo, Japan. She graduated in 1931 and began her career back at the Tokyo Women's Higher Normal School, where she was first employed as a teacher. She was later promoted to assistant professor. Private life Orihara married Kiyoshi Takiura, who she had met whilst a student at Tokyo Tech, in 1939. Tokyo Institute Of Technology
The Tokyo Institute of Technology () was a public university in Meguro, Tokyo, Japan. It merged with Tokyo Medical and Dental University to form the Institute of Science Tokyo on 1 October 2024. The Tokyo Institute of Technology was a Designated National University and a Top Type university of Top Global University Project designated by the Japanese government. Tokyo Tech's main campus was located at Ōokayama on the boundary of Meguro and Ota, with its main entrance facing the Ōokayama Station. Other campuses are located in Suzukakedai and Tamachi. Ochanomizu University
is a women's national university in the Ōtsuka neighborhood of Bunkyō-ku, Tokyo, Japan. Ochanomizu is the name of a Tokyo neighborhood where the university was founded. History The university traces its origins to 1875, when Tokyo Women's Normal School was founded in Tokyo's Ochanomizu neighborhood (now Yushima, Bunkyo-ku). It subsequently underwent a series of name changes: "The Women's Campus of Tokyo Normal School", "The Women's Campus of Higher Normal School", "Women's Higher Normal School", and "Tokyo Women’s Higher Normal School". Meguro
is a Special wards of Tokyo, special ward in the Tokyo, Tokyo Metropolis in Japan. The English translation of its Japanese self-designation is Meguro City. The ward was founded on March 15, 1947. Meguro is predominantly residential in character, but is also home to light industry, corporate head offices, the Komaba campus of University of Tokyo as well as fifteen foreign embassies and consulates.
