The ''News & Review'' is a group of free alternative weekly newspapers published by Chico Community Publishing, Inc. of Chico, California. The company publishes the ''Chico News & Review'' in Chico, California, the ''Sacramento News & Review'' in Sacramento, California, and, through January 30, 2022, the ''Reno News & Review'' in Reno, Nevada. On January 31, 2022, the ''Reno News & Review'' was sold to Coachella Valley Independent LLC. The chain started out as an on-campus newspaper for California State University, Chico called ''The Wildcat'', but after a dispute with the administration, the newspaper moved off campus to become an independent publication. KHTK (1140 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Sacramento, California. KHTK broadcasts a sports radio format as "Sactown Sports 1140" and is an affiliate of the Infinity Sports Network. It is owned by Salt Lake City–based Bonneville International, a profit-making subsidiary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The studios and offices are on Commerce Circle in North Sacramento, just north of the American River. KHTK is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum for AM radio stations in the United States. Because AM 1140 is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A stations XEMR-AM in Monterrey, Mexico, and WRVA in Richmond, Virginia, KHTK must broadcast with a directional antenna at all times to avoid interference, using a five- tower array. McClellan Air Force Base (1935–2001) is a former United States Air Force base in California, located in the North Highlands area of Sacramento County, northeast of Sacramento. History For the vast majority of its operational lifetime, McClellan was a logistics and maintenance facility for a wide variety of military aircraft, equipment and supplies. Initially known as the Pacific Air Depot and Sacramento Air Depot, in 1939 the base was renamed for Major Hezekiah McClellan, a pioneer in arctic aeronautical tests. Born in 1894, he died on 25 May 1936 when his Consolidated P-30 which he was flight testing crashed near Centerville, Ohio. 2014–15 Major Arena Soccer League Season
The 2014–15 Major Arena Soccer League season was the seventh season for the league and the first since six teams from the former Major Indoor Soccer League defected to what was formerly called the Professional Arena Soccer League. The regular season started on October 25, 2014, and ended on March 1, 2015. Each team played a 20-game schedule. Also it was the 37th season of professional Division 1 indoor soccer in the USA and the first season for the MASL as the top league.
