Sachin Bansal
Sachin Bansal (born 5 August 1981) is an Indian entrepreneur. He is best known as the founder of Flipkart During his over 11 year career at Flipkart, Bansal was CEO and chairman. In 2018, Bansal exited Flipkart following the Walmart deal. In 2007, Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal (not related) founded Flipkart whose valuation in 2018 was $20.8 billion. In 2018, Bansal held a 5.5 per cent stake in Flipkart, which he sold to Walmart and his net worth then was a little over $1 billion. Sachin Bansal is now the managing director of Navi Group, a financial services company. Early life Bansal was born in Chandigarh, India, on 5 August 1981. Chandigarh is a city and union territory in northern India, serving as the shared capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana. The Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) are a network of engineering and technology institutions in India. Established in 1950, they are under the purview of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Ministry of Education of the Government of India, Indian Government and are governed by the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961. The Act refers to them as Institutes of National Importance and lays down their powers, duties, and framework for governance as the country's premier institutions in the field of technology. 23 IITs currently fall under the purview of this act.
