History The Sabres of Paradise were formed in London, England in 1992. Andrew Weatherall formed the group with engineers Jagz Kooner and Gary Burns and became responsible for the Sabresonic warehouse raves. The group's debut studio album, ''Sabresonic'', was released in 1993. It peaked at number 29 on the UK Albums Chart. ''NME'' named it the 23rd best album of 1993. Jonathan Saul Kane (26 January 1967 – 12 July 2024) was a British DJ, musician, and producer who released music from 1987 as Depth Charge and The Octagon Man, amongst other aliases. He was involved in the founding of record label Vinyl Solution, as well as owner of his own labels DC Recordings and Electron Industries. Kane was well known for his pioneering use of Sampling (music), samples, particularly from cult films in the martial arts, Spaghetti Western and pornographic genres. He also made tracks celebrating his favourite football team (Brazil national football team, Brazil on the 1990 single "Goal") and player (on the 1998 single "Romário"). LFO was a British electronic music act formed in 1988 consisting of Mark Bell and Gez Varley. They released their acclaimed debut LP ''Frequencies'' in 1991 on Sheffield label Warp. After Varley left the group in 1996, Bell continued solo to release '' Advance'' (1996) and '' Sheath'' (2003). Bell died in October 2014, ending the project. LFO are considered to be pioneers of the bass-heavy "bleep techno" style. AllMusic called them "one of British techno's most important, agenda-setting groups."
