Sabreena Duffy
Sabreena McKinnon ( Duffy, born 26 March 2000) is an Australian rules footballer who played for Fremantle Football Club#AFL Women's team, Fremantle and Melbourne Football Club#AFL Women's team, Melbourne in the AFL Women's (AFLW). She was known as Sabreena Duffy during her playing career, but legally changed her family name to her foster parents name in December 2022. McKinnon was drafted by Fremantle Football Club#AFL Women's team, Fremantle with their second selection and seventeenth overall in the 2018 AFL Women's draft. She made her debut in the four point win against Melbourne Football Club#AFL Women's team, Melbourne at Casey Fields in the opening round of the 2019 AFL Women's season, 2019 season. The West Australian Women's Football League (WAWFL) was the governing body of women's Australian rules football in the state of Western Australia from 1987 until its dissolution in 2021. The Fremantle Football Club, nicknamed the Dockers or colloquially Freo, is a professional Australian rules football club competing in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's elite competition. The AFL Women's Rising Star award is presented annually to the best young player in the AFL Women's (AFLW) during the home-and-away season. The first award was awarded in 2017 AFL Women's Rising Star, 2017. The award has been sponsored by Telstra since 2024.
