Sabará (footballer)
Onofre Anacleto de Souza (18 June 1931 – 8 October 1997), better known as Sabará, was a Brazilian professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Career Sabará began his career at AA Ponte Preta in 1949, playing as a right midfielder. He ended up being traded to Vasco da Gama as a bargaining chip for striker Jansen. Unpretentiously, Sabará became one of the biggest names in Vasco's history, making 576 appearances, being the second player who wore the club's shirt the most, behind Roberto Dinamite. He also played for America and Portuguesa da Ilha and ended his career in 1966 at Deportivo Italia, becoming the Venezuelan champion. International career For the Brazil national team, he played for the first time on 13 November 1955, in the Taça Oswaldo Cruz against Paraguay. Sabará was the scorer of one of the goals. Atibaia
Atibaia (or ''Estância de Atibaia'') is a Municipalities of Brazil, Brazilian municipality in the state of São Paulo (state), São Paulo. 1952 Campeonato Carioca
The 1952 edition of the Campeonato Carioca kicked off on August 17, 1952 and ended on January 22, 1953. It was organized by FMF (Federação Metropolitana de Futebol, or Metropolitan Football Federation). Eleven teams participated. The Primera División (; ), or Liga Venezolana (; ) is the top-flight professional football league of Venezuela. It was created in 1921 and turned professional in 1957. It is organized by the Federación Venezolana de Fútbol. 1957 Tournoi De Paris
The 1957 Tournoi de Paris was the first edition of Tournoi de Paris, an association football intercontinental competition between European and South American clubs. In particular, the inaugural edition is considered the precursor of the Intercontinental Cup by FIFA, as it had the only continental champion clubs at the time (Vasco da Gama in 1948 South American Championship and Real Madrid in 1955–56 European Cup) competing in the final. Vasco da Gama defeated Real Madrid 4–3 in the final in front of more than 65,000 spectators. Teresa Herrera Trophy
The Teresa Herrera Trophy () is an annual pre-season football tournament hosted by Deportivo La Coruña at the Estadio Riazor. Established in 1946, the tournament is usually held in August, and since 1990 it always features local club Deportivo. The trophy was named after Teresa Margarita Herrera y Pedrosa (1712–1791), a philanthropist born in A Coruña that dedicated her life to the poor, using her house as shelter for sick and poor women in the city. The Torneio Octogonal Rivadavia Correa Meyer was an intercontinental club football tournament held in Brazil in 1953. It was organised by the Brazilian Sports Confederation (''Confederação Brasileira de Desportos'') as a successor of Copa Rio, that featured teams from Europe and South America. Torneo Octogonal had a similar format than its predecessor, being also held in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo from June 7 to July 4.
