Sabah Al-Alwani
Sabah Ahmed Saleh al-Alwani () is a Yemeni judge, who, in 2022 was the List of first women lawyers and judges in Asia#Yemen, first woman to be appointed as a member of the Supreme Judicial Council of Yemen. This is the highest judicial authority in the country and comprises a president and eight council members. Her appointment to the role was supported by women's rights activists such as Rasha Jarhum. Al Arabiya reported that the decision to appoint her is the most important decision made in the judiciary since the appointment of Samia Mahdi to the Supreme Court in 2006. Al-Alwani's career has included: her election as Head of the Executive Office of the Southern Judges Club in 2013 and appointment by the President of Yemen to the National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights.
