Suchitra Sen
Suchitra Sen ( ; born as Roma Dasgupta (; 6 April 1931 – 17 January 2014) was an Indian actress who worked in Bengali and Hindi cinema. The movies in which she was paired opposite Uttam Kumar became classics in the history of Bengali cinema. Sen was the first Indian actress to receive an award at an international film festival when, at the 1963 Moscow International Film Festival, she won the Silver Prize for Best Actress for ''Saat Pake Bandha''. In 1972, she was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award in India. From 1979 on, she retreated from public life and shunned all forms of public contact; for this she is often compared to Greta Garbo. Chhabi Biswas
Chhabi Biswas (''Chabi Biśbās'') (13 July 1900 – 11 June 1962) was an Indian actor, primarily known for his performances in Tapan Sinha's '' Kabuliwala'' and Satyajit Ray's films ''Jalshaghar'' (''The Music Room'', 1958), ''Devi'' (''The Goddess'', 1960) and '' Kanchenjungha'' (1962). He is best remembered for his numerous roles as the quintessential aristocratic patriarch, and was himself the scion of a rich and cultured North Kolkata family. He was born on 12 July 1900. His father, Bhupatinath Biswas, was well known for his charitable works. Kamal Mitra
Kamal Mitra was an Indian actor who appeared in more than 90 films spanning more than four decades. Along with Chhabi Biswas (1900–1962) and Pahari Sanyal (1906–1974) he dominated the Bengali silver screen as a character actor. Mitra played a number of prominent roles in mythological and social movies. His baritone voice and imposing physicality often saw him cast in roles of strict authoritative characters. Molina Devi (1917 — 13 August 1977), also known as Molina Debi and Malina Debi, was a Bengali Indian actress of Bengali and Hindi film and theatre. As an actress, she played a wide variety of parts, later frequently playing matronly parts, especially Rani Rashmoni, patroness of the 19th century Bengali mystic Sri Ramakrishna. Shyam Laha (26 November 1911 – 25 October 1973) was an Indian actor in Bengali and Hindi-language films. He was known for his comic acting. Early life Shyam Laha was born in 1911 in Kolkata, British India. His original name was Kashinath Shil. Laha passed matriculation from Bangabashi Collegiate School. He was interested in music, playing the ''Tabla''. Career Actor Pahari Sanyal was impressed by Laha at a function of the Bengali club in Lucknow and introduced him to Bengali director cum actor Pramathesh Barua. Laha became popular after acting in Debaki Bose's film ''Chandidas''. He acted in the first animated Bengali film Pear Brothers in 1934.
