Saarland State Police (German: ''Landespolizei Saarland)'' is the state police force of the Federal Republic of Germany, German state of Saarland. It is subordinated to the Saarland, Saar Ministry of the Interior, Urban Development and Sports. The Heckler & Koch VP9 (known as SFP9 in Europe and Canada) is a polymer-framed semi-automatic striker-fired handgun. The VP designation in the name refers to ''Volkspistole'', which translates to “civilian pistol” (literally “people’s pistol” ) while SFP stands for "striker-fired pistol". Völklingen (; , Moselle Franconian: ''Välglinge'') is a town in the district of Saarbrücken, in Saarland, Germany.
