SV Stockerau
SV Stockerau is an Austrian association football club from Stockerau, who currently play in the 5th tier Lower Austria 2. Landesliga Ost. History ''Stockerauer Sportvereinigung 07'' was founded on 7 May 1907. They reached the final of the 1913 Lower Austria league championship to play against 1. Wiener Neustädter SC. In summer 1958, the then named ASV TuS Stockerau merged with SV Heid to become ''SV Heid Stockerau'' and in 1974 they were renamed ''SV Telwolle Heid Stockerau''. In 1990 they underwent another namechange, now to ''SV Sparkasse Stockerau'' and on 30 May 1991, then 2nd tier Stockerau beat Austrian giants Rapid Vienna in the Austrian Cup final and qualified for the 1991–92 European Cup Winners' Cup The 1991–92 season of the European Cup Winners' Cup was won by Werder Bremen in the final against Monaco. Stockerau () is a town in the district of Korneuburg (district), Korneuburg in Lower Austria, Austria. Stockerau has 16,974 inhabitants, which makes it the largest town in the Weinviertel. Stockerau is also called "Lenaustadt" (Lenau Town) because the Austrian poet Nikolaus Lenau often spent time with his grandparents here. Marek Ostrowski (22 November 1959 – 6 March 2017) was a Polish footballer who played as a defender. He represented Poland at the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Club career He is one of the most notable players of Pogoń Szczecin during his time at the club, as he played 222 games, scoring 30 goals. International career Ostrowski made his debut for Poland in a January 1981 friendly match against Japan and earned a total of 37 caps, scoring 1 goal.
