STV-US () was a Bangladeshi-American Bengali-language television channel headquartered in Queens, New York City. The chairman of the channel was Hannan Firoze, Vice-Chancellor of Stamford University till 2007 when it was closed down. Fatinaaz Feroz, present chairman of Stamford University, served as the President of STV-US from 2004 to 2007, when it was closed. Naem Nizam, later editor of Bangladesh Pratidin, was the managing director of the channel. History STV-US was launched on 22 November 2005 to cover Bangladeshi news in New York City by Hannan Firoze, Vice-Chancellor of Stamford University. Naem Nizam was the founding managing director. It initially did not charge an airing fee. STV and TBC were Bengali language channels based in New York City while Bangla TV was based in London. Naem Nizam
Naem Nizam (born 5 November 1965) is a Bangladeshi journalist, writer, columnist, and editor of daily ''Bangladesh Pratidin''. Nizam is also the director of East West Media Group, the largest media conglomerate in Bangladesh. He is former CEO of News24 and Radio Capital. He is the former managing director of STV-US. Nizam philanthropic endeavors have led to the establishment of Heshakal Bazar Naem Nizam Degree College in his hometown of Comilla, Bangladesh. He is the vice president of Sheikh Russell KC, a professional football club based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League. Hannan Firoze
M. A. Hannan Feroz was a Bangladeshi entrepreneur, academic, and vice-chancellor and president of Stamford University. He was the president of the editorial board of Daily Amader Shomoy and editor of Daily Bangladesh Shomoy. He was the chairman of STV-US. Early life Feroz was born on 1 October 1965 in Rajapur Upazila, Jhalakati District, East Pakistan, Pakistan. He did his bachelors and master's in commerce at the University of Dhaka in 1977. He completed his PhD at the London Institute of Technology and Research. Career Feroz was a lecturer at Stamford College Group in Malaysia from 1987 to 1993. He founded Stamford University in 1994. He became a visiting professor at University at Buffalo and Claflin University in 1998. ATN Bangla (), 'ATN' being the acronym of the unused Asian Television Network, is a Bangladeshi Bengali-language satellite and cable television channel owned by Multimedia Production Company. It is based in the Kawran Bazar neighborhood of Dhaka. ATN Bangla is the first privately owned television channel and the first to broadcast on satellite in Bangladesh.
