STL (file Format)
STL is a file format native to the stereolithography CAD software created by 3D Systems. Chuck Hull, the inventor of stereolithography and 3D Systems’ founder, reports that the file extension is an abbreviation for ''stereolithography'', although it is also referred to as ''standard triangle language'' or ''standard tessellation language''. An STL file describes a raw, unstructured triangulated surface by the unit normal and vertices (ordered by the right-hand rule) of the triangles using a three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system. In the original specification, all STL coordinates were required to be positive numbers, but this restriction is no longer enforced and negative coordinates are commonly encountered in STL files today. STL files contain no scale information, and the units are arbitrary. STL files describe only the surface geometry of a three-dimensional object without any representation of color, texture or other common CAD model attributes. The STL format ...

Société De Transport De Laval
Société de transport de Laval (, STL) is the public transit system in the city of Laval, Quebec, Canada. History The STL was founded in June 1971 as the ''Commission de transport de la Ville de Laval (CTL)''. It later changed its name in 1985 to the ''Société de transport de la Ville de Laval'', until changing to its current name in 2001. In 2009 and 2010, a proposal to convert some of STL's most heavily used routes to trolleybus, electric trolleybuses was studied in detail, funded jointly by STL and Hydro-Québec, but in the fourth quarter of 2010, STL decided to postpone making a decision on trolleybuses until at least 2011, to allow further study of rechargeable electric buses first. Routes Serving the growing suburban areas of Laval, Quebec, Laval and the north of Montreal, the STL runs 44 routes, including the former Réseau de transport métropolitain, AMT's, now STL's 902 Express Route in Laval. Statement List
Instruction list (IL) is one of the 5 languages supported by the initial versions of IEC 61131-3 standard, and subsequently deprecated in the third edition. It is designed for programmable logic controllers (PLCs). It is a low level language and resembles assembly. All of the languages share IEC61131 Common Elements. The variables and function call are defined by the common elements so different languages can be used in the same program. Program control (control flow) is achieved by ''jump'' instructions and function calls (subroutines with optional parameters). The file format has now been standardized to XML by PLCopen. Example Variations from IEC 61131 Many vendors whilst incorporating the full IEC 61131-3 requirements have additional vendor specific calls/function blocks to suit their hardware such as reading or writing to I/O. Siemens PLC instruction list language is known as "Statement List" or "STL" in English, and "Anweisungs-Liste" or "AWL" in German, Italian and Span ...

Subtitles
Subtitles are texts representing the contents of the audio in a film, television show, opera or other audiovisual media. Subtitles might provide a transcription or translation of spoken dialogue. Although naming conventions can vary, captions are subtitles that include written descriptions of other elements of the audio, like music or sound effects. Captions are thus especially helpful to deaf or hard-of-hearing people. Subtitles may also add information that is not present in the audio. Localizing subtitles provide cultural context to viewers. For example, a subtitle could be used to explain to an audience unfamiliar with sake that it is a type of Japanese wine. Lastly, subtitles are sometimes used for humor, as in '' Annie Hall'', where subtitles show the characters' inner thoughts, which contradict what they were saying in the audio. Creating, delivering, and displaying subtitles is a complicated and multi-step endeavor. First, the text of the subtitles needs to be wri ...

Send The Light

Early history The name “Send the Light” first appeared in 1957 as a Christian literature evangelism ministry sending copies of the Gospel of John from Chicago to Mexico, under the direction of George Verwer, then a student at Moody Bible Institute. Verwer later moved to Bolton in the UK, where he established Operation Mobilisation (OM), which today distributes Christian literature in many countries around the world. Verwer decided to keep the name “Send the Light” for one particular aspect of OM, exporting Christian books to India. As STL, this developed into a general distributor of Christian books, and relocated to Bromley in Kent. Rise to prominence In Januar ...

Standard Template Library
The Standard Template Library (STL) is a software library originally designed by Alexander Stepanov for the C++ programming language that influenced many parts of the C++ Standard Library. It provides four components called ''algorithms'', ''containers'', '' functors'', and ''iterators''. The STL provides a set of common classes for C++, such as containers and associative arrays, that can be used with any built-in type or user-defined type that supports some elementary operations (such as copying and assignment). STL algorithms are independent of containers, which significantly reduces the complexity of the library. The STL achieves its results through the use of templates. This approach provides compile-time polymorphism that is often more efficient than traditional run-time polymorphism. Modern C++ compilers are tuned to minimize abstraction penalties arising from heavy use of the STL. The STL was created as the first library of generic algorithms and data structures f ...
