STCC – The Game
''Race 07'' is a racing simulator computer game from SimBin Studios (later Sector3 Studios and KW Studios). The game is the sequel to the 2006 title ''Race – The Official WTCC Game''. Like the original ''Race'', the title is officially licensed by the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). ''Race 07'' features more than 300 cars in nine different racing classes. ''Race 07'' includes the full 2006 and 2007 seasons of the FIA World Touring Car Championships (FIA WTCC) as well as 8 more classes on 14 tracks from all over the world. Multiplayer is only available with installation of the Steam client and registration for an account with Steam. Reception The game was moderately-well received by critics. IGN stated that the game was "not as likely to win over a casual racer, because little was done to cultivate new hardcore sim racing fans here". International Formula Master, also known as Formula Super 2000, was a European-based junior single seater formula. The series was conceived as a competitor for Formula Three and made its debut at Valencia in 2007. European television channel Eurosport were backing the series and the series regularly supported the World Touring Car Championship during its European races. The championship started in 2005 as the 3000 Pro Series, organised by Peroni Promotion and based in Italy; it used Lola B99/50 chassis alongside 2002 cars. 2008 World Touring Car Championship Season
The 2008 World Touring Car Championship was a motor racing competition for Super 2000, Super 2000 Cars and Diesel 2000, Diesel 2000 Cars. Organised by the FIA, it comprised the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Drivers and the FIA World Touring Car Championship for Manufacturers. The championship began on 2 March, and ended on 16 November, after twenty-four races. It was the fifth World Touring Car Championship and the fourth since its 2005 return. Frenchman Yvan Muller won the Drivers title by 26 points from SEAT team-mate Gabriele Tarquini, with Chevrolet's Rob Huff, Robert Huff finishing third just a point behind Tarquini. Sim racing is the collective term for racing games that attempt to accurately simulate auto racing, complete with real-world variables such as fuel usage, damage, tire wear and grip, and suspension settings. To be competitive in sim racing, a driver must understand all aspects of car handling that make real-world racing so difficult, such as threshold braking, how to maintain control of a car as the tires lose traction, and how properly to enter and exit a turn without sacrificing speed. It is this level of difficulty that distinguishes sim racing from arcade racing-style driving games where real-world variables are taken out of the equation and the principal objective is to create a sense of speed as opposed to a sense of realism like the Need for Speed series. V8 Thunder Cars, previously Camaro Cup or the Camaro Cup 2000, is a Sweden, Swedish-based stock car racing series. History The idea about an American class in Swedish racing was born by the SSK acting director Robin Shorter in 1974. He spread his idea to active racers and to dealers selling American car brands. Work was begun by a group of people, including Shorter, Sven Hjansons, Picko Troberg and Göran Boström, to start a series called the ''Woodhead Super Star Cup''. The first season was held in 1975 and was won by Bo "Emma" Emanuelsson, who also won the first ever race of the championship, held at the SSK premiere at Kinnekulle Ring. Swedish Touring Car Championship
Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) was a touring car racing series based in Sweden, but also with rounds in Norway. They began operating in 1996, heavily influenced by the British Touring Car Championship and the success of BTCC racing on Swedish television. STCC replaced the 1991–1995 . There were also a number of accompanying support classes that raced alongside STCC; Radical, the Camaro Cup, Superkart, Pro Superbike, the JTCC and the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia. The final STCC season was in 2010, as the series merged with the Danish Touringcar Championship to form the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. Hockenheimring
The Hockenheimring, officially Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg () is a motor racing circuit situated in the Rhine valley near the town of Hockenheim in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, located on the Bertha Benz Memorial Route. Amongst other motor racing events, it has hosted the German Grand Prix, most recently in 2019. The circuit is nearly flat. The circuit has an FIA Grade 1 licence. History 1932–1938 Originally called "Dreieckskurs" (triangle course), the Hockenheimring was built in 1932. The man behind it is Ernst Christ, a young timekeeper who felt that a racing track should be built in his hometown of Hockenheim.
