Sui Southern Gas Company Football Club, commonly known as SSGC or Sui Southern Gas, was a football club based in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. The club used to compete in the Pakistan Premier League. They played at the Punjab Stadium and sometimes at Korangi Baloch Stadium. History Sui Southern Gas Company first competed in 1996 PFF President's Cup, where they were placed in group with Pakistan Army and Pakistan Telecommunication, Sui Gas lost both their matches 5–0 and 3–2 respectively. In 1998, the club competed in the 1998 President's Cup, losing and drawing their group stage matches 2–0 and 3–3 to Crescent Textiles Mills and Karachi Port Trust as they were knocked out of the tournament finishing third. In 1999, the club took part in All Pakistan Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan Football Tournament, in which they were knocked out in the first match after losing to Mahfooz Club in preliminary round. Arif Mehmood
Arif Mehmood (born June 21, 1983) is a Pakistani former footballer who played as a striker. He has been the top-scorer in the Pakistan Premier League five times, leading the charts in 2004–05, 2006–07, 2007–08, 2009–10 and 2010–11. Early life Mehmood was born on 21 June 1983 in Multan, Punjab, Pakistan. He completed his studies from Government Comprehensive Boys High School and graduated in engineering from Government Technology College. Club career Mehmood started his career with the amateur team Young Gulshan Multan, from where WAPDA scouted him and selected him in their youth team in 1998. Mehmood got called up for the senior team in 2004-05 Pakistan Premier League season, where he scored 20 goals in 30 appearances, earning him the top-scorer award. 2010 National Football Challenge Cup
The 2010 National Football Challenge Cup was the 20th edition of National Football Challenge Cup, the main cup competition in Pakistani football. The tournament was held in Multan. A total of 16 were participating in the tournament, but Karachi Port Trust withdrew few days before the start of tournaments. Khan Research Laboratories were the defending champions, winning the previous edition defeating Pakistan Airforce in the finals. Khan Research Laboratories successfully defended the title, as they went on to defeat Pakistan Navy 4–0 in the finals. The 2010–11 Pakistan Premier League for professional association football, was the 7th season of the Pakistan Premier League, since its establishment in 2004, and the 56th season of Pakistan domestic league. The season began on 16 September 2010. Khan Research Laboratories were the defending champions. WAPDA won the league, it was their 4th Premier League and 8th Pakistani league title.
