Savoia 1908 is an Italian association football club located in Torre Annunziata, Campania. It currently plays in Eccellenza. It is one of the oldest companies in southern Italy. It was founded on 21 November 1908 by a group of industrial mills and pasta factories, with the help of other characters from the middle-class of Torre Annunziata. The social color is white, the color of the raw material of Torre Annunziata economy of the time: the flour. The symbol of the club is the stylized Savoy shield and plays its home games in the Alfredo Giraud Stadium. They won the championship of Southern Italy in 1924, obtaining the honor to face the national champions of Genoa. Giugliano Calcio 1928 is an Italian association football club based in Giugliano in Campania, in the region of Campania. The club was founded in 1928, and play in the . History The club was founded as Unione Sportiva Fascista Giuglianese in 1928. Giuglianese was admitted to Prima Categoria U.L.I.C. (Free Italian Footballers Union) for the 1928–29 season. In 1929, the team's name was changed to Aurelio Padovani Giugliano and were enrolled in the third regional division championship of the F.I.G.C. and included in Group B. The Lega Italiano Calcio Professionistico (Italian for Professional Football Italian League), commonly known as Lega Pro (Pro League), is the governing body that runs the third tier of professional football competitions in Italy, the Serie C. Eccellenza Campania is the regional Eccellenza football league for clubs in the Southern Italian region of Campania, Italy. It is composed of 32 teams, divided into divisions A and B, which are 2 of the 28 total Eccellenza divisions in all of Italy. The two winners of the divisions are automatically promoted to Serie D. Promozione
The Promozione (, "promotion") is the sixth level in the Italian football league system. Each individual league winner within the Promozione level progresses to their closest regional league in the Eccellenza level. Depending on each league's local rules, a number of teams each year are relegated from each league, to the 7th level of Italian football, the Prima Categoria. This level of Italian football is completely amateur and is run on a regional level. History in brief In the past, from 1904 to 1912, the Seconda Categoria had been the second level of Italian local regional tournaments in which main teams used to field apprentices and reserves. 2008–09 Serie D
Serie D, the fifth level of Italian Football, is usually composed of 162 teams divided into nine 18-team divisions. Special relegation of four teams from the professional leagues above Serie D after the team list had been set increased the total number of teams for this season to 166. One division will have 20 teams, two will have 19, while the other six will remain at 18 teams. The regular Serie D season started September 7, 2008. Each team will play two matches against every other team in its own division; a total of 34 matches for 18-team divisions, 36 matches for the 19-team divisions, and 38 matches for the 20-team division.
