State Route 8 (SR-8) is a short east-west state highway in the southwestern portion of the U.S. state of Utah, running entirely within the west side of the city of Saint George, Utah, St. George. The route connects SR-18 (UT), SR-18 to Dixie Downs Road via Sunset Boulevard in a span of . Prior to 1999, SR-8 extended north to Snow Canyon State Park. However, the route was truncated to its current point that year. Route description SR-8 begins on the northwestern side of St. George, Utah, St. George at the intersection of Dixie Downs Road and Sunset Boulevard, proceeding east on Sunset Boulevard as a five-lane undivided highway. Past Westridge Drive, the road turns slightly to the east-northeast. St. George is a city in and the county seat of Washington County, Utah, United States. Located in southwestern Utah on the Arizona border, it is the principal city of the St. George Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). State Route 18 (SR-18) is a state highway in southern Utah, running for in Washington and Iron Counties from St. George to Beryl Junction. It forms part of the Legacy Loop Highway from St. George to Parowan. The highway closely follows the route of the Old Spanish Trail through Dixie National Forest. Route description St. George to Veyo SR-18 begins at Convention Center/Sunland Drive just south of the Bluff Street interchange with I-15 in St. George as an urban arterial and heads north through the west side of downtown St. George. After passing Sunset Boulevard ( SR-8), the route has an inverted single-point urban interchange with Snow Canyon Parkway/Red Hills Parkway. Snow Canyon State Park
Snow Canyon State Park is a state park in Utah, located in the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve. The park features a canyon carved from the red and white Navajo sandstone of the Red Mountains, as well as the extinct Santa Clara Volcano, lava tubes, lava flows, and sand dunes. Snow Canyon is located near the cities of Ivins and St. George in Washington County. Description Snow Canyon State Park contains several sandstone canyons cut in the Red Mountains. On the north end of the park, West Canyon and Snow Canyon follow a parallel southward path and converge in the middle of the park.
