State Route 219 (SR-219) is a state highway in the U.S. state of Utah. It runs east to west along Main Street in the city of Enterprise in Washington County. Route description Route 219 begins at the western city limits of Enterprise and runs east along Main Street for until it ends at SR-18 on the east side of town. History On September 28, 1984, the city officials of Enterprise, and the county officials of Washington County signed a resolution to delete then Utah State Route 307 at Gunlock State Park in exchange for adding Main Street in Enterprise to the state highway system. This resolution was officially approved by the 1985 Utah State Legislature. Of note is that former Utah State Route 120 also connected Enterprise to SR-18, but instead of ending at the western city limits, it continued to the Nevada border via Terry's Ranch. Enterprise, Utah
Enterprise is a rural farming community in northwestern Washington County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. Enterprise is home to two schools, Enterprise Elementary School (K-6) and Enterprise High School (7-12). Activities Enterprise is known for hosting an annual Cornfest where the town and neighboring communities celebrate the harvest of local farmers in late August. Cornfest has been a tradition in Enterprise since 1990. The small town boasts of its freshly grown corn available at the festival and along Main Street. State Route 18 (SR-18) is a state highway in southern Utah, running for in Washington and Iron Counties from St. George to Beryl Junction. It forms part of the Legacy Loop Highway from St. George to Parowan. The highway closely follows the route of the Old Spanish Trail through Dixie National Forest. Route description St. George to Veyo SR-18 begins at Convention Center/Sunland Drive just south of the Bluff Street interchange with I-15 in St. George as an urban arterial and heads north through the west side of downtown St. George. Gunlock State Park
Gunlock State Park is a state park of Utah, USA, adjoining the Gunlock Reservoir that impounds the Santa Clara River. The park is located approximately northwest of St George. The reservoir dam was constructed in 1970 for irrigation water and flood control. Gunlock State Park is a primitive area; there are facilities. The park offers camping, swimming, boating, and fishing. The park and reservoir are named after the nearby community of Gunlock. The town was named after William "Gunlock Will" Hamblin, its first settler. Hamblin was a Mormon pioneer born in Ohio who settled in the area in 1857. Utah State Route 120 (1945)
A number of minor routes in the U.S. state of Utah were deleted by the State Legislature in 1969. State Route 19 The State Road Commission designated a state highway connecting Cedar City with Lund on August 2, 1912. The purpose was to connect Cedar City with the nearest railroad station, that of the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad ( Union Pacific Railroad) at Lund. A connecting road—now known as Gap Road—running west from the county seat at Parowan through Hieroglyphic Canyon (now Parowan Gap) to the Cedar City–Lund road was added to the state highway system on December 21, 1915. In 1919, the state legislature redefined the state highway system to include only a short list of roads and any federal aid projects. SR 75 (NV)
Nevada's original State Routes were developed beginning in 1917 upon the creation of the Nevada Department of Highways. Route numbers were not assigned according to any particular numbering system, and sequential numbers were often scattered throughout the state. For example, while State Routes 27 and 28 were designated along highways near Lake Tahoe in northwestern Nevada, State Route 29 connected to Death Valley in central Nevada and State Route 30 was connected to Utah in northeastern Nevada. Additionally, several suffixed highways, branching from the original parent route, were also designated.
