SPICE Arena
Arena is a multipurpose indoor arena in George Town within the Malaysian state of Penang. Situated within the suburb of Bayan Lepas, it contains of event space and is touted as the largest arena in northern Malaysia. Originally named the Penang International Sports Arena ( PISA), the arena was completed in 1997 ahead of the 2000 Sukma Games and the 2001 SEA Games. The venue was plaqued with issues related to poor design and maintenance. In 2011, Malaysian property developer S P Setia was awarded a project to redevelop the arena, with modifications completed by 2016. Now a component of Setia SPICE, the arena is used for sports events, concerts and conventions. Setia SPICE
Setia is a Multi-purpose stadium, multipurpose sports complex in George Town, Penang, George Town within the States and federal territories of Malaysia, Malaysian state of Penang. It occupies an area of within the suburb of Bayan Lepas, comprising five components SPICE Arena (formerly named Penang International Sports Arena, PISA), SPICE Convention Centre, SPICE Aquatic Centre, SPICE Canopy and a hotel. The Green Building Initiative, GBI-certified complex is George Town's main Indoor games and sports, indoor sports centre and serves as a major venue for Convention (meeting), business events. Pakatan Rakyat
Pakatan Rakyat (PR; ) was an informal Malaysian political coalition and successor to Barisan Alternatif (BA). The political coalition was formed by the People's Justice Party (PKR), Democratic Action Party (DAP), and Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS) on 1 April 2008, after the 12th Malaysian general election, having previously formed the Barisan Alternatif (Alternative Front) in the 10th general election. On 20 April 2010, the Sarawak National Party (SNAP) officially joined as a member of the Pakatan Rakyat after being expelled from Barisan Nasional, but quit the coalition on 6 May 2011. The DAP declared the coalition "dead" on 16 June 2015, citing the inability of the rest of the alliance to work with PAS, after PAS's congress passed the motion to sever ties with DAP without debate. 2008 Penang State Election
The 12th Penang election was held on 8 March 2008. Polling took place in 40 constituencies throughout the State of Penang, with each electing a State Assemblyman to the Penang State Legislative Assembly. The election was conducted by the Malaysian Election Commission. The legislative body had been dissolved on 13 February by the Governor of Penang, Abdul Rahman Abbas, on the advice of the incumbent Chief Minister, Koh Tsu Koon, who also led the state's ruling coalition at the time, Barisan Nasional (BN). Opposing the BN was the Pakatan Rakyat (PR) alliance, which consisted of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), the People's Justice Party (PKR) and the Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS). Wushu () (), or kung fu, is a competitive Chinese martial art. It integrates concepts and forms from various traditional and modern Chinese martial arts, including Shaolin kung fu, tai chi, and ''Wudangquan''. Penang State Legislative Assembly
The Penang State Legislative Assembly is the legislature of the Malaysian state of Penang. It is a unicameral institution, consisting of a total of 40 elected lawmakers representing single-member constituencies throughout Penang.
