SPC Vision
The Vision Factory (also known under the names SPC Vision, SPC Codim and SPC Group) was a Dutch developer of video games for the Philips CD-i. The Vision Factory was originally a developer of business software named SPCC (allegedly an acronym for Sergeant Pepper's Computer Company). They impressed Philips with CD-i games with colorful sprites, like the shooter ''Alien Gate''. ''The Vision Factory'' was the label under which the SPC games were released. Their most famous game is probably the puzzle game ''Dimo's Quest'', that was originally developed by Boeder Games / Infernal Byte Systems for the Amiga and was ported by SPC to CD-i. In 1996, Philips stopped supporting the CD-i, which meant the demise of the company. In 2002, SPC / The Vision Factory went bankrupt. 's-Hertogenbosch
s-Hertogenbosch (), colloquially known as Den Bosch (), is a city and municipality in the Netherlands with a population of 157,486. Tatjana Šimić (born 9 June 1963), also known by the mononym Tatjana, is a Croatian-Dutch model, actress and singer. Biography Šimić was born in Zagreb, PR Croatia, Yugoslavia on 9 June 1963, but moved with her mother and sister to Rotterdam in 1979 at the age of 16. ''The Video Game'' is a syndicated game show that ran for 1 year from September 1984 to September 1985. It was created by JM Production, and debuted shortly after the cancellation of their earlier game show ''Starcade''. ''The Video Game'' was taped at Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park. Greg Winfield hosted, Karen Lea modeled, and Christopher Kriesa announced. Gameplay To begin, two contestants were called down from the audience. They each played the same video game, and the first to reach a pre-determined score (or outcome) won a prize and came up to play a special mini-game. Lingo is a television game show that aired in the Netherlands between 1989 and 2014, and returned in 2019 on the commercial channel SBS6. Since 2022, it is aired on the commercial channel Net5. The format consists of a word game that combines Mastermind and Bingo. From 1989 to 2014, the show was broadcast by public broadcasting associations. From 1989 to 2000 it was broadcast by VARA after which it was broadcast by TROS which later became AVROTROS. Origins The original version of the American game show ''Lingo'' debuted in syndication in 1987 with Michael Reagan as host and Ralph Andrews as executive producer. ''Alien Gate'' is a fixed shooter developed by SPC Vision and published by Philips for the CD-i. The background gives the impression of a vertically scrolling shooter, but the attackers stay in position relative to the player's ship. Gameplay ''Alien Gate'' is a shooting game. Development ''Alien Gate'' was developed by Dutch studio SPC Vision and was primarily designed by Stefan Posthuma. The code and graphics were all written using the Atari ST. The project began as a demo provided to publisher Philips who were so impressed that they commissioned a full release as well as a five-game contract with the developer. Reception ''Next Generation'' reviewed the CD-i version of the game, rating it one star out of five, and stated that "Those who actually want shooting action from their CD-i will do better to stick with games like '' Mystic Midway'' than to delve into this painfully deficient travesty." Amiga is a family of personal computers introduced by Commodore International, Commodore in 1985.
