SEPTA Main Line
The SEPTA Main Line is the section of the SEPTA Regional Rail system from the Zoo Interlocking in West Philadelphia to Lansdale Station in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. The line is long, and serves all 13 SEPTA Regional Rail lines. Service Service on the Main Line segment between Glenside and Center City Philadelphia is given a special combined public timetable known as the Glenside Combined, allowing riders to see the schedules of all trains on the Main Line without having to look at multiple schedules. This is a partial legacy of SEPTA's former diametrical reorganization route number designations, which had the R1 Glenside designation for trains that terminated at the station, paired with the Airport Line. Fern Rock Transportation Center
The Fern Rock Transit Center is a SEPTA rail and bus station located at 10th Street and Nedro Avenue in the Fern Rock, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Fern Rock neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Fern Rock serves as the northern terminus and yard for the SEPTA Metro Broad Street Line, B, as well as a stop for SEPTA Regional Rail's Lansdale/Doylestown Line, Warminster Line, and West Trenton Line (SEPTA), West Trenton Line. Positive Train Control
Positive train control (PTC) is a family of automatic train protection systems deployed in the United States. Most of the United States' national rail network mileage has a form of PTC. These systems are generally designed to check that trains are moving safely and to stop them when they are not. Positive train control restricts the train movement to an explicit allowance; movement is halted upon invalidation. A train operating under PTC receives a ''movement authority'' containing information about its location and where it is allowed to safely travel. Conrail
Conrail , formally the Consolidated Rail Corporation, was the primary Class I railroad in the Northeastern United States between 1976 and 1999. The trade name Conrail is a portmanteau based on the company's legal name. Newtown Junction is a rail junction in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where the Newtown Branch joins the SEPTA Main Line.
