Vacallo
Vacallo is a Municipalities of Switzerland, municipality in the district of Mendrisio (district), Mendrisio in the Cantons of Switzerland, canton of Ticino in Switzerland. It is the first (or last) village of the Valle di Muggio. History Like nearby Chiasso, Vacallo was formerly a suburb of Como, until, along with the rest of Ticino it was then annexed from Italian cities in the 15th century by various Swiss forces in the last transalpine campaigns of the Old Swiss Confederacy. More precisely it was 1416 when it was incorporated in the Pieve of Balerna and given to the Rusca family to manage. In the Helvetic Republic, established 1798, it formed part of the canton of Lugano. The creation of the Swiss Confederation in 1803 saw a merger with neighbouring canton of Bellinzona to form the modern canton of Ticino. The Swiss Basketball Cup, commonly known as simply the Swiss Cup or as the Patrick Baumann Swiss Cup, is the national cup competition of professional basketball in Switzerland. It is organised by Swiss Basketball, the national governing body of the sport. Swiss Basketball hosts a men's, women's, U18 men's, and U18 women's version of the Patrick Baumann Swiss Cup. Format Teams from the top-tier levels in Switzerland can participate in the cup competition. Georgios "Giorgos" Diamantopoulos (; born on February 15, 1980) is a Greek former professional basketball player. At a height of tall, he played as a shooting guard-small forward. In the prime of his career, he possessed great scoring ability. Professional career In the 2001–02 season, Diamantopoulos led the European-wide 2nd-tier level FIBA Saporta Cup in scoring, averaging 22.6 points per game. Larry O'Bannon (born August 15, 1983) is an American professional basketball player for Hispano Americano of the Liga Nacional de Básquet (LNB). He played college basketball for the University of Louisville. Early life O'Bannon attended Jefferson County Traditional Middle School. He attended Male High School where he competed in basketball and track and field. He played on the same basketball team as Oakland Raiders running back Michael Bush, who was also his teammate in middle school. O'Bannon has a sister who teaches at Meyzeek Middle School. Jermaine Turner
Jermaine Turner (born July 29, 1974) is an American-Irish former professional basketball player who spent the majority of his 17-year career playing in the Irish Super League. Turner first arrived in Ireland in 2000 following a season of college basketball with Dowling College. Over 17 years, he spent time with Dungannon, Tralee, Ballina, Tolka Rovers, UCD Marian, St Vincent's, and Killester. He also had stints in Switzerland, Finland, Romania and Spain.
