SARP Honorary Award
The SARP Honorary Award (Polish: ''Honorowa Nagroda SARP'') is one of the two most prominent and significant annual architectural prizes in Poland, and it's awarded by the Association of Polish Architects (SARP) in recognition of the outstanding lifetime achievements in the field of architecture. It has been acclaimed 'the most prestigious architecture award' by Polish daily Gazeta Wyborcza and by Art & business: gazeta aukcyjna. It was founded in 1966 and, since then, awarded to a number of Poland's best contemporary architects, amongst them: Marek Budzyński, Stanis ław Niemczyk, Ryszard Jurkowski, Stefan Kuryłowicz and Maciej Miłobędzki. JEMS Architekci
JEMS Architekci is an architectural firm based in Warsaw, Poland. It was officially established in 1988 by Olgierd Jagiełło, Maciej Miłobędzki, Jerzy Szczepanik-Dzikowski and Wojciech Zych (an economist and the CEO of JEMS) who had worked together a few years earlier within Spółdzielnia Pracy Twórczej Architektów i Plastyków ESPEA (lit. Cooperative for Creative Work of Architects and Artists). In the following years Marcin Sadowski, Marek Moskal, Paweł Majkusiak and Andrzej Sidorowicz joined the team. Among their best-known designs are the Hoover Square in Warsaw (2012), the Polish Embassy in Berlin (2012) and the Raczyński Library in Poznań (2014). In 2015 they won the SARP Award of the Year for their design for the International Conference Centre in Katowice. Wojciech Zabłocki
Wojciech Mikołaj Zabłocki (6 December 1930 – 5 December 2020) was a Polish architect and fencer, specialist in the saber modality. Sports career Zabłocki participated in four Olympic Games: 1952 Helsinki, 1956 Melbourne, 1960 Rome, 1964 Tokyo and won two silver (1956, 1960) and one bronze medal (1964) in team sabre fencing. He participated in the FIE World Championships in Fencing and won four gold (team: 1959, 1961, 1962, 1963), one silver (team: 1954) and four bronze medals (individual: 1961; team: 1953, 1957, 1958). Zabłocki won the Polish fencing championships five times. He was a member of MKS Katowice, Budowlani Kraków, Krakowski Klub Szermierzy (KKSz) and Marymont Warszawa teams. Włodzimierz Mucha (January 21, 1956 - October 13, 2019) was a Polish architect, designer and partner at Bulanda & Mucha Architects. Co-winner of SARP Honorary Award in 2015. Maciej Miłobędzki
Maciej Miłobędzki (born in 1959 in Warsaw) – is a Polish architect and partner with JEMS Architects, Warsaw. Biography Miłobędzki was born in 1959 in Warsaw to Adam Miłobędzki (1924–2003) and his wife, Joanna (1927–1988). His grandfather was Tadeusz Miłobędzki. In 1985 he graduated from the Warsaw University of Technology. In 1988, still under the socialist regime, he founded together with Jerzy Szczepanik-Dzikowski and Olgierd Jagiełło the architectural studio called JEMS Architekci. Bohdan Lachert
Bohdan Lachert (13 June 1900 – 8 January 1987) was a Polish architect, member of Praesens group. He designed a lot of buildings with his friend Józef Szanajca, like modern villas ast Saska Kępa (inspired by Le Corbusier's ideas) or Polish pavilon at EXPO Paris 1937. The Association of Polish Architects ( pl, Stowarzyszenie Architektów Polskich, SARP) is a Polish professional architecture organisation. Since 1948 it has been a member of the International Union of Architects (UIA) and the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA). It also acts as a publishing institution of architectural journals, books and magazines. Since 1995, it has held status of a copyright collective.
