S7 (Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn)
Line S7 is an S-Bahn service on the Rhine-Ruhr network in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, between and . The line has been operated by RheinRuhrBahn since 10 December 2023 at 20-minute intervals, using Alstom Coradia LINT 41 diesel multiple unit vehicles. The service was previously classified as Regionalbahn service RB47, known as the ''Der Müngstener'', a reference to the Müngsten Bridge, which it crosses and DB Regio had operated it on the same route with DB Class 628 diesel multiple units since 1994. It was also operated at 20-minute intervals, in the evenings and on weekends, every 30 minutes. The S7 was operated by Abellio Deutschland from 2013 to 2022, when it became bankrupt. VIAS then operated the line under an emergency contract 1 from February 2022 to 10 December 2023, when RheinRuhrBahn took over operations to December 2028. Wuppertal-Oberbarmen station is located in the city of Wuppertal in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. Historically, it served as a significant railway junction, connecting to four railway lines. S11 (Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn)
Line S 11 is a S-Bahn line operated by DB Regio on the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn network. It connects Düsseldorf Airport Terminal with Bergisch Gladbach, running via Düsseldorf Neuss, Dormagen and Cologne. Before 13 December 2009, the service operated from Wuppertal-Vohwinkel in peak time, sharing the Wuppertal-Düsseldorf run with the S8 trains. Normal operation, though, started at Düsseldorf-Wehrhahn. Since the introduction of the new 2010 Schedule the service starts at Düsseldorf Airport Terminal replacing the line S 7 to Düsseldorf Hbf. Solingen Hauptbahnhof is the only railway station in Solingen, Germany, to be served by ICE and IC long distance trains. History The first station in the area of present-day town of Solingen was built with the opening of the Gruiten-Cologne-Mülheim railway by the Bergisch-Märkische Railway Company. The station opened on 25 September 1867 and was named ''Ohligs Wald'' ("Ohligs forest"). That same year a branch line to Solingen was built from this station.
