S20 (ZVV)
The S20 is a railway service of the Zürich S-Bahn that provides rush-hour service between and , in the Swiss canton of Zürich. Swiss Federal Railways operates the service. History The S20 was introduced on 11 June 2019, with the initial southeastern terminus at . It was extended from Stäfa to with the December 2021 timetable change. Lake Zürich Right-bank Railway Line
The Lake Zürich right-bank railway line (german: Rechtsufrige Zürichseebahn) is a railway line in the Swiss canton of Zürich. As its name suggests, it runs down the right, or east, bank of Lake Zürich, connecting Zürich to Rapperswil. The line was opened in 1894, nineteen years after the complementary left bank railway. As built, it originally departed from the surface level of Zürich Hauptbahnhof station in a westerly direction, before performing a clockwise 270 degrees turn via a viaduct over the River Limmat and the Letten Tunnel to Stadelhofen station. Since 1990 the Letten Tunnel has been closed and replaced by the Hirschengraben Tunnel, which takes a direct easterly route under the River Limmat from new low level platforms at Hauptbahnhof. At the same time as the Hirschengraben tunnel was constructed, the Zürichberg tunnel was constructed in order to link Stadelhofen station with the Zürich to Winterthur and Wallisellen to Rapperswil via Uster lines. SBB-CFF-FFS Re 420
The Re 420, originally (and still widely called) Re 4/4II, series are the most common electric locomotives of the Swiss Federal Railways. They are used for passenger services throughout Switzerland alone or in pairs. For freight services, they are sometimes paired with the Re 620, especially in mountainous regions. That pairing is referred to by the term Re 10/10. The Re 430, originally known as the Re 4/4III, are a derivative of the Re 420 modified for higher traction but lower speed.
