S.V. Prakash
Sport Vereniging Prakash is a Surinamese football club based in Nieuw Nickerie. The club presently competes in the 1e Klasse of the Nickerie Voetbal Bond and the Lidbondentoernooi. They have previously played in the Hoofdklasse and the Eerste Klasse, having made one appearance in the CONCACAF Champions' Cup, where they lost in the Second round to SV Transvaal. HIstory Prakash were founded by Balkaran ‘Balie’ Mangroe in Nieuw Nickerie where they play their home games at the Nickerie Voetbal Stadion to a capacity of 3,400. Nickerie Voetbal Stadion
Asraf Peerkhan Stadion, formerly the Nickerie Voetbal Stadion, is a football stadium in Nieuw Nickerie, Nickerie, Suriname. The stadium has a capacity of 3,400 visitors. It is the home stadium of (NVB), the football union for the Nickerie District. The stadium was constructed in 1933. It used to be called Nickerie Voetbal Stadion. On 17 December 2017, the members of the NVB voted to change the name to Asraf Peerkhan Stadion in honour of Asraf Peerkhan. Members of the NVB include S.V. Santos, S.V. Prakash, and PSV Nickerie. Staatsolie donated US$198,000 in 2014 for the renovation of the football stadium and the neighbouring cricket grounds. The old wooden stands were replaced by concrete stands. The SVB Derde Divisie ( en, Member Associations Tournament) is an annual football tournament organized by the Surinamese Football Association (SVB) since 2006. It is also known as the SURIBET Lidbondentoernooi due to sponsorship. The tournament is contested by the winners and runners-up of the districts leagues from the 20 regional member associations of the SVB. The SVB Eerste Divisie is the highest football championship for clubs run by the Surinaamse Voetbal Bond. The Topklasse is at the top of the system of Surinamese football championships. The league currently comprises twelve teams and operates a system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from November to June of the next year, with teams playing 30 games in the regular season. The SVB Tweede Divisie is second-highest division overall in the Surinamese football league system after the Topklasse, where the top club is promoted to each season. The weakest club is relegated to the Lidbondentoernooi.
