S.L. Silam
Sayaji Laxman Silam (born 18 May 1896) was the first Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry Union Territory in India. He was Lt. Governor for First and Second assemblies of Puducherry Union Territory (U.T.). He was member of Legislative Assembly of Bombay State Bombay State was a large Indian state created in 1950 from the erstwhile Bombay Province, with other regions being added to it in the succeeding years. Bombay Province (in British India roughly equating to the present-day Indian state of Mah ... elected during 1951 and 1957 elections. He was also Speaker of Bilingual Bombay State Assembly from 21 November 1956 to 16 June 1957. After the 1957 elections he continued as Speaker until 30 April 1960. Bombay State
Bombay State was a large Indian state created in 1950 from the erstwhile Bombay Province, with other regions being added to it in the succeeding years. Bombay Province (in British India roughly equating to the present-day Indian state of Maharashtra, excluding Marathwada and Vidarbha) was merged with the princely states of Baroda, Western India and Gujarat (the present-day Indian state of Gujarat) and the Deccan States (which included parts of the present-day Indian states of Maharashtra and Karnataka). Basappa Danappa Jatti
Basappa Danappa "B. D." Jatti () (10 September 1912 – 7 June 2002) was the vice president of India, serving from 1974 to 1979. He was the acting president of India from 11 February to 25 July 1977. He also served as the chief minister of Karnataka. Jatti rose from a being a Municipality member to India's second-highest office during a five-decade-long chequered political career. Early life Jatti was born in a Kannada speaking Lingayat family at Savalgi in Jamkhandi Taluk of Bijapur district in present-day Karnataka on 10 September 1912. His parents were Danappa Jatti and Sangamma. Jatti studied at the PB High School Jamkhandi and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rajaram College and a degree in law from the Sykes Law College, Kolhapur.
