Ready-to-Learn
The Ready-To-Learn (RTL) Act is a project funded by PBS and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) to supply educational programming and materials for preschool and elementary school children. Created in 1992, the Ready-To-Learn Act furthered the creation of the Ready-To-Learn Block programming, programming block which provided eleven hours of educational programming throughout the day on the PBS channel. The goal of the initiative was to provide educational content to support low-income communities that addressed Social emotional development, social and emotional development as well as emphasized language and cognitive skills for children ages 2-8 years old. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) is an American publicly funded non-profit corporation, created in 1967 to promote and help support public broadcasting. The corporation's mission is to ensure universal access to non-commercial, high-quality content and telecommunications services. It does so by distributing more than 70 percent of its funding to more than 1,400 locally owned public radio and television stations. The Electric Company (2009 TV Series)
''The Electric Company'' is an American television series produced by Sesame Workshop and developed by Karen Fowler. It is a reboot of the 1971 series of the same name. The series ran on PBS Kids Go! from January 19, 2009, to April 4, 2011, with reruns continuing on PBS until August 31, 2014. The series aired reruns on HBO Kids on HBO Family from January 1, 2016, until November 1, 2020, as part of HBO's deal with Sesame Workshop. Nick Jr. (known on-air as the Nick Jr. Channel) is an American pay television channel spun off from Nickelodeon's long-running programming block of the same name. It is run by Paramount Global through its networks division's Kids and Family Group. The channel launched on September 28, 2009, and primarily targets preschoolers. Its lineup features a mix of originally-produced programming, along with series from the Nickelodeon weekday block; because of the two entities, Nick Jr. is known on-air as "the Nick Jr. Channel" (as of March 2018) to avoid confusion, especially at times of day where both services are carrying preschool programming. It hosts over 18 million pieces of content from more than 4,000 academic journals and 30,000 e-books of this publisher. ''Ready Jet Go!'' is a children's computer-animated educational television series produced by Wind Dancer Films. The series aired new episodes on PBS Kids from February 15, 2016 to May 6, 2019, although re-runs continue to this day. It was created by animator and ''Hey Arnold!'' creator Craig Bartlett, and is produced in cooperation with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. The show teaches science and astronomy.
