Carl Rüedi
Carl Rüedi (April 21 (or 23?), 1848 – June 17, 1901) was a Swiss pulmonologist and at his lifetime one of the best-known physicians in Graubünden. Rüedi rose to fame around the world after having treated the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson in the winters of 1880-81 and 1881-82. Stevenson praised Rüedi in the dedication of his poetry collection ''Underwoods'' (1887) as ''"the good genius of the English in his frosty mountains"''. Life Descent and childhood (1848-66) Carl Rüedi was the youngest of eight children of the Graubünden district doctor and pioneer of climatotherapy Lucius Rüedi and his wife Rahel (née Conrad). Yves Rüedi (; born 30 September 1976) is a Judge of the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland. Professional career Education Rüedi earned a Master of Laws degree in 2002 and a Doctor of Law degree in 2009 from the University of St. Gallen. National career From 2002 until 2012, Rüedi worked in private legal practice with Pestalozzi Attorneys at Law in Zürich. In 2006 he was elected President of the High Court of the Canton of Glarus by the Landsgemeinde. In 2013 the Federal Assembly appointed him as a judge to the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland. Rüedi was the youngest judge elected to the Federal Supreme Court in history. The Judicial Committee of the Federal Assembly accredited him with an impressive academic career. Marcel Rüedi
Marcel Rüedi (1 November 1938 in Winterthur – 25 September 1986 in Makalu) was a Swiss climber who reached the summit of ten of the eight-thousanders. In 1980, Rüedi ascended Dhaulagiri. In 1981 he forged a new route along the North Face of the Eiger in the Bernese Alps. In 1983, together with Erhard Loretan and Jean-Claude Sonnenwyl, Rüedi climbed the three main summits of the Gasherbrum Group within 15 days, reaching Gasherbrum I via a standard route variation. In 1984, he reached the peaks of Manaslu and Nanga Parbat, officially climbing five eight-thousanders in only twelve months. In 1986, Rüedi was the first Swiss, along with Peter Habeler, to summit Cho Oyu. That same year, he and Krzysztof Wielicki attempted to climb Makalu via a standard route variation. Lisa Rüedi (born 3 November 2000) is a Swiss ice hockey player and member of the Swiss national team, currently playing in the Swiss Women's League (SWHL A) with the ZSC Lions Frauen. She served as captain of the ZSC Lions during the 2020–21 season, during which the team won the Swiss Women's Cup, and the 2021–22 season, in which the Lions were SWHL A champions.
