History The line was constructed as the original terminal stretch of the Gjøvik Line (then known as the North Line) in 1900 until the extension to Gjøvik was opened in 1902. A single-track railway is a railway where trains traveling in both directions share the same track. Single track is usually found on lesser-used rail lines, often branch lines, where the level of traffic is not high enough to justify the cost of constructing and maintaining a second track. Røykenvik Station ( no, Røykenvik stasjon) was the terminal station of the Røykenvik Line. Located in Gran, Norway, it opened on 20 December 1900 as part of the North Line. The station was first called Røikenvik, but changed to the current spelling in April 1924. The station was a changeover from train to steam ship.
