John Rost (born ) is a former British ice hockey player. He played between 1962 and 1982 for the Brighton Tigers, Wembley Lions and Streatham Redskins The Streatham Ice Hockey Club (formerly Streatham Redskins and RedHawks) is a British ice hockey club based in Streatham, London, England. Yuri Rost (, born February 1, 1939, in Kiev, Ukraine) is a photographer, journalist, author and traveller. Rost's photographic vision is closely related to the humanist tradition established by post-war photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Leonard Freed, and Ed van der Elsken. He was selected by Henri Cartier-Bresson (1908–2005) for inclusion in his last exhibition, ''Les choix d’Henri Cartier-Bresson'' (Paris, 2003) after meeting him in Paris. Pierre Adolphe Rost (1797 – September 6, 1868) was a Louisiana politician, diplomat, lawyer, judge, and plantation owner. Early life and emigration to the United States Born in the department of Lot-et-Garonne, France in 1797, Rost received his education at the École Polytechnique in Paris, where men were recruited into either the civil service or military service. As an artilleryman, he was credited for brave conduct in the defense of Paris on March 30, 1814. Rost applied for a commission in Napoleon's army after the Emperor's escape from Elba, but he was too late for the Battle of Waterloo. Escaping from what he thought to be an oppressive régime, Rost emigrated to New Orleans, arriving in the spring of 1816. Then he became a teacher in Natchez, Mississippi, and studied law under Joseph Emory Davis, the brother of Jefferson Davis. Peter Lewis Rost (born Otto Ludwig Peter Rosenstiel, 19 September 1930 – 8 September 2022) was a British Conservative politician who served as a member of Parliament (MP) from 1970 to 1992, and was a member of the Energy Select Committee. He was one of the founders of the Anglo German Parliamentary Group, which promoted good relations with the German Parliament. Peter Rost (born 29 June 1951 in Leipzig, East Germany) is a former German Team handball player; today he works as a coach and an official in this sport. His biggest success was winning the Olympic gold medal as the captain of the national team of East Germany in Moscow in 1980. Rost played for SC Leipzig nationally. In 1966 he won the DDR youth championship, and in 1972, 1976 and 1979 he won the East German Championship with the club. In 1984 he was named East German handballer of the year. All in all, he played internationally for East Germany 216 times, scoring 339 goals. He was in the team that came in second in the 1974 World Championship in their own country. As a coach, he was responsible for the women's team from Frankfurt/Oder, the men's team of SC Magdeburg (1998/99) and of ThSV Eisenach (2001–2003). Peter Rost (doctor)
Peter Rost is an American former drug marketing executive who is most known for taking public stances critical of the pharmaceutical industry as an "insider" and whistleblower. He sued his last two pharmaceutical employers, Wyeth and Pfizer, the latter of which fired him in 2005. At Wyeth, he uncovered tax evasion practices, and after informing senior company executives, was transferred from Sweden to a post in New Jersey. Rost sued the company, saying that the transfer was a retaliatory demotion, though the company said it was a promotion. Rost settled with Wyeth for an undisclosed amount in 2003. At Pfizer, Rost filed a ''qui tam'' suit disclosing off-label marketing of Genotropin at Pharmacia prior to its purchase by Pfizer. The U.S. Department of Justice declined to join in Rost's suit as the marketing violations had already been disclosed to the Department by Pfizer.
