Bornholm Airport () is a Denmark, Danish airport located 2.7 nautical miles (5 km) southeast of Rønne, on the island of Bornholm. The airport is operated by Statens Luftfartsvæsen (''The Danish Civil Aviation Administration'') with the air traffic control provided by Naviair. History In 1935, representatives of Rigsdagen, Rønne municipality and Det Danske Luftfartsselskab (DDL) − later a part of Scandinavian Airlines System − agreed to establish an air connection between Rønne and Copenhagen Airport, Copenhagen. The following year ''A/S Den bornholmske Flyveplads'' was founded, with airport construction beginning in 1937. Two years later the first route commenced on a temporary licence from the air transport inspectorate. Flights were however suspended after several days due to runway problems. Bornholm () is a List of islands of Denmark, Danish island in the Baltic Sea, to the east of the rest of Denmark, south of Sweden, northeast of Germany and north of Poland. DAT A/S, formerly named ''Danish Air Transport'', is a Danish airline headquartered in Vamdrup, Kolding Municipality, operating scheduled and chartered passenger flights mainly from airports in Denmark, Norway, Italy and Germany. History DAT was founded as ''Danish Air Transport'' and started operations in 1989, initially as a cargo airline. Skiathos Alexandros Papadiamantis Airport is an airport on the island of Skiathos, Greece. Its runway is able to accommodate aircraft up to the size of a Boeing 757-200. The runway is characterised as 'short and narrow'. Because of the uneven terrain on the island of Skiathos, Skiathos Airport was created by reclaiming land from the sea between Skiathos island and the smaller island of Lazareta (a former leper colony) effectively joining the two islands into one larger island, though it was built on land already part of Skiathos.
