Rías Altas
Rías Altas (also called "Upper Rias") is the northernmost of three sections of '' A Costa do Marisco'' (the Seafood Coast) in Galicia, Spain. It extends from the port of Ribadeo to Santa Cruz. The Upper Rias refers to the coast of the northern part of A Coruña Province and the entire coastline of the Lugo Province. The biggest city port of the Upper Rias is Ferrol - the most important Naval Station in North-western Spain. Ria Del Barquero
A ria (; gl, ría) is a coastal inlet formed by the partial submergence of an unglaciated river valley. It is a drowned river valley that remains open to the sea. Definitions Typically rias have a dendritic, treelike outline although they can be straight and without significant branches. This pattern is inherited from the dendritic drainage pattern of the flooded river valley. The drowning of river valleys along a stretch of coast and formation of rias results in an extremely irregular and indented coastline. Often, there are naturally occurring islands, which are summits of partly submerged, pre-existing hill peaks. Ferrol, Galicia
Ferrol () is a city in the Province of A Coruña in Galicia, on the Atlantic coast in north-western Spain, in the vicinity of Strabo's Cape Nerium (modern day Cape Prior). According to the 2021 census, the city has a population of 64,785, making it the seventh largest settlement in Galicia. With Eume to the south and Ortegal the north, Ferrol forms the Ferrolterra comarca, and together with A Coruña forms the second largest conurbation in Galicia, with a total population of 640,000 in 2016. Ferrol Region
Ferrol is a coastal ''comarca'' in the northwest of the province of A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. It is also known as Ferrolterra. The area is 613.4 km2, and the overall population of this ''comarca'' was 161,154 at the 2011 Census; the latest official estimate (at the start of 2018) was 153,776.Estimate at 1 January 2018: Instituto Nacional de Estadística, Madrid. Surfboard
A surfboard is a narrow plank used in surfing. Surfboards are relatively light, but are strong enough to support an individual standing on them while riding an ocean wave. They were invented in ancient Hawaii, where they were known as ''papa he'e nalu'' in the Hawaiian language, and were usually made of wood from local trees, such as koa. They were often over in length and extremely heavy. Major advances over the years include the addition of one or more fins (skegs) on the bottom rear of the board to improve directional stability, and numerous improvements in materials and shape. The Ferrolterra Pantin Classic is an international surf competition which gathers in a yearly basis all the most remarkable figures in the world of surf, fun, body board and windsurfing at the beach of Pantin in Valdoviño, Ferrolterra, north-western Spain. Burela
Burela is a municipality in the Galician province of Lugo. It is in the comarca of A Mariña. Burela is a coastal town on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea. An extension area of 8.2 square kilometers was created in 1994, following the segregation of the municipality of Cervo. Its fishing port is one of the most important of the Galician coast and has a large fleet of ships. Its economy is based mainly on fishing, in particular, albacore ("bonito del norte") and hake are delivered daily to the rest of Spain. As a result, a canning industry has developed. Due to the high demand for personnel to work at sea, Burela is a multicultural town which has many residents from Cape Verde and has recently had an influx of immigrants from Peru, Indonesia, and other places. San Cibrao
San Cibrao (the name is Galician; also known by the Spanish-language San Ciprián), is an industrial and fishing town, part of Cervo (which is both a settlement and municipality of the Lugo Province) in Northwestern Spain. The population of San Cibrao is about 3,000 in July and August and about 2,000 year-round.
