Råsunda (district)
Råsunda is a district in Solna Municipality, and a suburb in the Stockholm metropolitan area with around 17,500 inhabitants. The movie industry set up in the area Filmstaden, formerly an ostrich farm, in 1919–1969 (nowadays the area has homes, offices) in western Råsunda. A large football stadium (Råsunda Stadium) stood in central Råsunda 1937–2003, on the grounds of a sports field that existed from 1910. Råsunda can be reached by the Näckrosen metro station (west part), Solna centrum metro and light rail station (south edge), the commuter train and light rail Solna station (east edge) and the major road Frösundaleden (south edge). Solna Municipality
Solna ( or , ), also known as Solna Municipality, is a municipalities of Sweden, municipality in central Stockholm County, Sweden, located just north of Stockholm City Centre. Its seat is located in the town of Solna, which is a part of the Stockholm urban area. Solna is one of the wealthiest municipalities in Sweden. The municipality is part of Metropolitan Stockholm. None of the area is considered rural, which is unusual for Swedish municipalities, which normally are of mixed rural/urban character. Solna is the third-smallest municipality in Sweden in terms of area, after nearby Sundbyberg Municipality, Sundbyberg, as well as Burlöv Municipality, Burlöv, Scania County. Filmstaden
Filmstaden was a film studio situated in Råsunda, Solna Municipality in Stockholm, Sweden. History Filmstaden was once one of the most modern film studios of its time in Europe. It was built in 1919–1920 based on designs by Swedish architect Ebbe Crone (1885-1960). It was owned and operated by SF Studios (''Svensk Filmindustri''), the main Swedish film producer at the time. Some 400 movies have been created at Filmstaden. The first movie to be filmed at Filmstaden was ''The Phantom Carriage'' (''Körkarlen''. 1921) by director Victor Sjöström. Practically all Swedish actors and film directors of the 20th century had some connection with Filmstaden. In 1969, Svensk Filmindustri left Filmstaden and the studios were used by small film producers, production of television dramas and the ''Riksteatern'' Theatre. Råsunda Stadium
Råsunda Stadium (; also known as Råsunda Fotbollsstadion, Råsundastadion, Råsunda Football Stadium or just Råsunda) was the Swedish national football stadium. It was located in Solna Municipality in Stockholm and named after the district in Solna where it was located. The stadium was demolished in 2013 after being replaced by Nationalarenan. History It was opened in 1937, although there had already existed stadiums at the site; the earliest opened in 1910. The inaugural match took place on 18 April 1937 when AIK played against Malmö FF, AIK won the match 4–0, with Axel Nilsson scoring the historical first goal. Näckrosen Metro Station
Näckrosen (meaning ''the water lily'') is a station on the Stockholm metro, blue line. The station is located in Solna Municipality (northwestern end of Råsunda area), but one of the entrances is in Sundbyberg Municipality (Storskogen square). Solna Centrum Metro Station
Solna centrum is a metro station in Solna Municipality, approximately from central Stockholm, Sweden. It is close to the Solna Centrum shopping centre and Strawberry Arena. It opened on 31 August 1975 as part the first stretch of the Blue Line between T-Centralen and Hjulsta. The mall contains around 120 stores and restaurants, 40 offices and 214 apartments. Storskogen is a district in Sundbyberg Municipality with 3062 inhabitants (in 2019), and a suburb in the Stockholm metropolitan area. Central Sundbyberg
Central Sundbyberg () is the oldest and longest-established part of Sundbyberg Municipality in Sweden. It is a railway town and one of Stockholm's oldest satellite towns, built around Sundbyberg railway station which opened in 1876. Its proximity to Stockholm City Centre, nostalgic environment and well-connected transport networks has made this part of town an attractive housing area. Forms of public transport include the Stockholm Metro (''Tunnelbanan''), Stockholm commuter rail (''Pendeltåg'') and SL buses. Trams returned to Sundbyberg in 2013 after 54 years of absence when Tvärbanan was expanded from Alvik to Solna. Tracks are laid in one of the main streets with two stops in this area. Sundbyberg Municipality
Sundbyberg Municipality ( or ''Sundbybergs stad'') is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden, just north of the capital Stockholm. Sundbyberg is wholly within the Stockholm urban area and has a 100% urban population. Sundbyberg was detached from Bromma (which since 1916 is in Stockholm Municipality) in 1888 as a market town (''köping''). It got the title of a city in 1927. In 1949 parts of Solna Municipality and Spånga Municipality (when the rest of Spånga was amalgamated into Stockholm) were added. A proposed merger with Solna in 1971 was never implemented, making Sundbyberg, with an area of , the smallest municipality in Sweden, but also the most densely populated.
