Rålambshovsparken
Rålambshovsparken (English: Rålambshov Park) is a park in the Marieberg district on the island of Kungsholmen in Stockholm, Sweden. Location This park passes under a section of Västerbron. In the west, the park borders the Konradsberg campus of Stockholm University, in the east it extends toward promenade of Norr Mälarstrand and to the south-east it opens onto Riddarfjärden. Sculptures Rålambshovsparken is home to several sculptures: ''Monument över Yxman'' by Eric Grate (1896-1983), ''Domarring'' by Egon Möller-Nielsen (1915- 1959), ''Fjärilen'' by Elli Hemberg and ''Färgtorn'' by Lars Erik Falk (1922-2018). Västerbron
() is an arch bridge in central Stockholm, Sweden. With a total length exceeding 600 m, 340 m of which stretches over water, it is one of the major bridges in Stockholm, offering one of the most panoramic views of the central part of the city centering on Gamla stan, the old town. Its inauguration on 20 November 1935 made it the second stationary connection between the southern and northern parts of the city, saving the citizens the effort of a ferry ride, which had previously been required, or the congested detour through Gamla stan. Erik Glemme
Erik Glemme (27 May 1905- 20 January 1959) was a Swedish designer and landscape architect. Biography Glemme was born in Jönköping, Sweden. He trained at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm from 1927 to 1929. He apprenticed with architect Osvald Almqvist (1884–1950). He was employed at the Royal Institute of Technology as an assistant 1943-1947 and as a teacher 1947–1952. From 1936 to 1956 he was chief architect of the design office of the city of Stockholm Parks Department. His work includes Mälarpaviljongen, a landscape park on Norr Mälarstrand, which he designed with landscape architect Holger Blom (1906-1996). Elli Hemberg
Elin Elisabeth "Elli" Hemberg (13 November 1896 - 23 May 1994), was a Swedish abstract painter and sculptor. She is most famous for her architectural sculptures, which often feature three dimensional visuals and elements of dynamic symmetry. Her work is featured in the Moderna Museet, Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm, as well as the Museum of Art in Kalmar, among other places. Biography Elli Hemberg was the daughter of the Provost (religion), provost Johan Hemberg, and his wife Signe Hedenius, an artist whose father was the notable Swedish Professor of medicine Per Hedenius. She grew up in the Swedish town of Skövde, and later attended Wilhelmsons School of Art (1918-1922), run by the painter Carl Wilhelmson. Marieberg, Stockholm
Marieberg is a district located on the island of Kungsholmen in Stockholm City Centre, Sweden. Marieberg is part of the Borough of Kungsholmen. It is located west of Fridhemsgatan/Riddarfjärden, south of Drottningholmsvägen and east of Essingeleden/Viktor Rydbergs gata. In the south Marieberg borders the Mariebergsfjärden. History Marieberg has its name after the Marieberg ''malmgård'' (suburban manor), which was erected in the 1640s on the shores of Lake Mälaren for the ''Riksråd'' Bengt Skytte. He named the farm after his daughter Maria, the wife of the Master of the Horse Gustav Adam Banér. Of this first settlement, only Triewald's ''malmgård'' is preserved today, which is called ''Mangården'' on Petrus Tillaeus' map from 1733 and may be identical to Marieberg's ''malmgård''. School Strike for Climate ( sv, Skolstrejk för klimatet), also known variously as Fridays for Future (FFF), Youth for Climate, Climate Strike or Youth Strike for Climate, is an international movement of school students who skip Friday classes to participate in demonstrations to demand action from political leaders to prevent climate change and for the fossil fuel industry to transition to renewable energy. Climate Justice
Climate justice is a concept that addresses the just division, fair sharing, and equitable distribution of the burdens of climate change and its mitigation and responsibilities to deal with climate change. "Justice", "fairness", and "equity" are not completely identical, but they are in the same family of related terms and are often used interchangeably in negotiations and politics. 2018 Swedish General Election
General elections were held in Sweden on 9 September 2018 to elect the 349 members of the Riksdag. Regional and municipal elections were also held on the same day. The incumbent minority government, consisting of the Social Democrats and the Greens and supported by the Left Party, won 144 seats, one seat more than the four-party Alliance coalition, with the Sweden Democrats winning the remaining 62 seats.
