Ryūtarō Nakamura
was a Japanese animation director, director and animator, best known for directing the landmark anime series ''Serial Experiments Lain'', and for his collaboration with Masamune Shirow and Chiaki J. Konaka on ''Ghost Hound''. Death In 2009, it was announced that he would be working on a new project: ''Despera''. Production was put on hold due to Nakamura suffering from an unspecified illness. Following several months of hospitalization due to pancreatic cancer, he died on June 29, 2013. His death was announced nearly a month after. Unico
is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Osamu Tezuka. It was serialized in Sanrio's manga magazine ' from November 1976 to March 1979 and collected in two volumes. The series follows the titular unicorn as he uses his magic to help friends from around the world across different time periods. The series was drawn in a western style, being published in full color and read from left to right. It has since been published in different collections and has been adapted into film and comics. A modern-day reboot of the series began publication by Scholastic under its Graphix imprint in 2024. Plot Unico is a young, innocent male unicorn who possesses a special ability to bring happiness to anyone near him. The story begins in ancient Greece with a young mortal girl named Psyche. ''Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex'' is a Japanese anime television series produced by Production I.G and based on Masamune Shirow's manga ''Ghost in the Shell''. It was written and directed by Kenji Kamiyama, with original character design by Hajime Shimomura and a soundtrack by Yoko Kanno. The first season aired from October 2002 to October 2003 and was positively received by critics. A second season, titled ''Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd Gig'', aired from January 2004 to January 2005. Critical response to the series was generally positive.
