Ryun Williams
Ryun Thomas Williams (born March 26, 1969) is an American college basketball coach who is the current head women's basketball coach at Colorado State. Early life and college playing career Born in Gillette, Wyoming, Williams graduated from Campbell County High School and was awarded the Wyoming Mr. Basketball award in 1988. Williams played junior college basketball at Sheridan College before transferring to the University of South Dakota, where he played two seasons at guard for the South Dakota Coyotes. Williams averaged 17.3 points and 2.3 rebound s in his junior season of 1990–91. As a senior in 1991–92, Williams averaged 9.4 points and 2.4 rebounds. Coaching career From 1993 to 1995, Williams was men's basketball assistant coach and women's volleyball head coach at Sheridan. The 2011 Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI) was a single-elimination tournament of 16 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I teams that did not participate in the 2011 NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament or 2011 Women's National Invitation Tournament. The 2009–10 NCAA Division I women's basketball season began in November 2009 and ended with the 2010 NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Tournament's championship game on April 6, 2010 at the Alamodome in San Antonio. Summit League
The Summit League, or The Summit, is an NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic conference with its membership mostly located in the Midwestern United States from Illinois on the East of the Mississippi River to the Dakotas and Nebraska on the West, with additional members in the Western state of Colorado and the Southern state of Oklahoma. Founded as the Association of Mid-Continent Universities in 1982, it rebranded as the Mid-Continent Conference in 1989, then again as the Summit League on June 1, 2007. The league headquarters are in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The membership currently consists of 10 full members plus six associate members. South Dakota Coyotes
The South Dakota Coyotes, also known as the USD Coyotes (locally pronounced ; ), are the athletic teams for the University of South Dakota. Their team colors are vermilion and white. They have been members of Summit League of the NCAA's Division I since the 2011–12 school year. The football team plays in Division I's Football Championship Subdivision as a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The Coyotes were charter members of the Division II North Central Conference and were members until 2008 when it upgraded to Division I. Before the 2016–17 school year, most of the Coyotes' athletic events were held in the multi-purpose DakotaDome, located in Vermillion, South Dakota. AP Poll
The Associated Press poll (AP poll) provides weekly rankings of the top 25 NCAA teams in one of three Division I college sports: football, men's basketball and women's basketball. The rankings are compiled by polling 62 sportswriters and broadcasters from across the nation. Each voter provides their own ranking of the top 25 teams, and the individual rankings are then combined to produce the national ranking by giving a team 25 points for a first place vote, 24 for a second place vote, and so on down to 1 point for a twenty-fifth place vote. 2014 Women's National Invitation Tournament
The 2014 Women's National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 64 NCAA Division I teams that were not selected to participate in the 2014 Women's NCAA tournament. The annual tournament began on March 19 and ended on April 5. All games were played on the campus sites of participating schools. The Tournament was won by the Rutgers Scarlet Knights who defeated the UTEP Miners, 56–54, in the championship game before a sellout crowd of 12,222 at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas. Participants 64 teams were selected to participate in the 2014 WNIT. 32 teams received automatic berths into the tournament from being the highest-ranked team in their conference that failed to make the NCAA women's tournament.
